I teared up reading this. I REALLY miss being able to handle difficult moments by cooking. I know it will return, but I RARELY get to cook these days. Making baby food while two infants might scream at any moment doesn’t count. But he's right. If you can, this kind of thing often works.

My babies have their second ever cold while we are far from home at my monster-in-laws house. I have about half the tools that would usually be available to me and not even a drop of energy left. This is actual hell. It took us 14 hours to get here, gonna have to make the same drive home tomorrow.
