I wonder how often she's in situations where she's getting ticked off at her own voice recordings irl lol

Yeah I wish their big crosswords ran weekly instead of monthly or so. But I agree, the poker one is my current 2nd fave game on puzzmo.

Love the crosswords, the midi size is perfect for me.

Could be wrong but I think they're in on the joke and mocking people who sincerely do this.

My FIL is a lifelong Alabamian and puts sugar in his grits and it's baffling to me. Where tf did he even learn that, everybody else in the South knows that sugar is blasphemy. Salt or gtfo

The tools are way better, but the games are substantially more complex too! Again, not defending $80 games at all here. Just adding some additional context.

I don't disagree but this does seem to be missing that game dev teams are substantially larger and dev cycles longer, i.e. much higher labor costs. E.g. compare (originally $70) Mario Kart 64 vs. the new $80 Mario Kart World.

Wait why does AEW own the game engine instead of the dev? That seems odd.

Notably, she looks nearly identical to the second photo in the wikipedia article.
Also, unrelated, but I always loved that she (and Carolina dogs) look just like Apple's dog emoji. š

Taking suggestions for reranking or new nominees. But this feels right as far as insects are concerned

How is "Israel has a right to exist as a state with equal rights" not a direct answer? What additional clarity do you think you needed?

How are you so bad at this? Like genuinely among the all-time worst opposition leaders in the last century+. When was the last time you spoke with a normal person?

It is a genuinely awful ride, and somehow not the worst new ride at Universal Orlando in the last decade. That honor goes to the Fast and Furious ride. Imagine a F&F ride that is almost entirely stationary.

Right, and like, does the person above really hate the software I use with ML features that makes analyzing a large data set of biological images about 100x more efficient? Likely not, but ML is just as much "AI" as LLMs. It's too bad that genAI has muddied the waters for much of the public re: AI.
comment in response to
post
I will say, it's annoying how broad of a term "AI" is. The complaints about generative AI/LLMs are valid imo, but it sucks it's led to people disavowing anything labeled AI. AI is so much more than chatbots and slop AI art.

The profit motive has nothing to do with government research grants though, which you said is the engine of innovation. That just isn't true.
comment in response to

I'm not talking about subsidies. I'm talking about direct government funding of research via grants. Read The Entrepreneurial State by Mazzucato. bookshop.org/p/books/the-...

lol no it isnāt. First, the innovators are rarely the ones who actually yield the profits of their inventions, source: Iām an R&D engineer for a company. Second, nearly every major innovation in last 80+ years was deeply subsidized by government spending.
