I only to to McD’s when I travel if I need a cup of coffee - required on some of those long drives

This regime will do everything they can to twist words and tie rulings up in knots

McDonald’s usually has coffee for not much more than a dollar - ask for a senior coffee - usually even less! ‘Cause we need that caffeine!!

And even bringing back a few of the people creates another huge expense to find them office space, do all the paper processing, etc. This administration has spent far more money than they claimed they were going to save

Amen to that! I didn’t realize how intense the book was when I started it but now I gotta finish it!
comment in response to

Totally understand - this book is not inherently political, just how people are dealing with such as we're dealing with now, but far worse. It takes place in Ireland and the prose is wonderful - but, yes, some troubling images.

If Bluesky is an echo chamber it’s because so many of us share the same ideas. If someone has a contrary opinion and presents it well they deserve a response. But if they just parrot right wing, talking points, never mind.

Oh, so many places! But travel is more difficult now. I loved Israel and Greece, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia & New Zealand. Budapest and Vienna. And Spain, along with Portugal.

I’ve only been to Lisbon & Sintra - maybe 30 yrs ago, but loved it!

Portugal is also really, really nice, and popular with ex-pats. But so darn far.

Of course, some was fact, much was opinion - but First Amendment!! It was on his personal, not ABC, account. Yet, Trump’s minions speak untruths all the time. We are truly in a dark place.

He wants to get anyone who is “different“, whether that is black brown, gay Muslim or purple polkadot. He wants to make this a white Christian nation, and he doesn’t care how he gets to that goal.

The 2 judges on the appeals court who ruled against AP were appointed by Trump, no doubt on federalist Society recommendation. But Trump
Is mad at them now b/c Coney Barrett’s opinions. But, yes, will probably be the split you say

There was an article on CNBC app the other day that mentioned the Social Security Fairness act that was signed into law in January; but it did not say that it was signed by Joe Biden. Why not?

This was an appeals court - maybe SCOTUS will get it right, if appealed to them
comment in response to

Agreed. The media needs to cover other news, not every comment or post that Trump makes. And stop the sane-washing!! I read an article the other day about a SS benefits bill signed in January; no mention that it was signed by Biden. Why?

Doesn’t it take much longer than a few years to build aluminum and steel factories? Especially when you have to go through environmental studies, get permits, pay extra cost for all building materials due to tariffs, how will it even be anywhere near cost-effective?
