His genes forecast Alzheimer's. His brain had other plans www.npr.org/2025/02/12/n...

It’s been a tough few weeks. My 10yo daughter was diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive cancer called interdigitating dendritic cell sarcoma (IDCS). I’m reaching out to identify clinicians/patients who have encountered pediatric IDCS or other (non-LCH) dendritic or histiocytic sarcomas cases.

Wow. Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde fearlessly calls out Trump and Vance to their faces. This is heroic. (posting in 3 parts due to Bluesky's 1 minute limit)

Source 👉 www.instagram.com/p/DFDZ2YCMrb... cc @metoomedia.org

If science says so 😇

Women leave academia at higher rates than men at every career stage, and attrition is especially high among three groups: tenured faculty, women in non-STEM fields, and women employed at less prestigious institutions, a #ScienceAdvances analysis finds.

James Cain is the 2023 Tadion-Rideal Prize PhD student for Molecular Science for his and Bertille Montibus’ work on Host-Nested Genes! genome.cshlp.org/content/earl...

petit cadeau pour @chercheurjuteux.com l'évolution de l'IF de International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents. Un seul papier cité des milliers de fois et le tour est joué 😆🤣

Vienna, here we go!!! #allezlesbleues 🤾‍♀️

Interested in a #postdoc in Edinburgh working on #interdisciplinary #epigenetics and having this view on your morning commute? Upcoming opportunities to apply for funding below 🧵 1/3. Get in touch if you are interested.

Nice work from Dimitria, a great PhD student in Rebecca's lab. She used DNA methylation data and parenclitic network to investigate the signature of aggressive tumours and predict aggressiveness!

Hello World! So very grateful for #ERCCoG support of our research ! Many thanks to my lab and mentors for their invaluable help. Come join us if you want to explore how evolutionary arms races shape the epigenome! #MolaroLab erc.europa.eu/news-events/...

A reason I am very wary of the loose ways we think about 'epigenetics' is because of these kinds of conclusions: DNA methylation mediates the link between adversity and depressive symptoms. www.nature.com/articles/s44...

I am thrilled to share the news of the publication of our work about genes located inside other genes. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39578100/. This was a fantatic journey with @rebeccaoakey.bsky.social, @jacain.bsky.social and Rocio.

Bertille Montibus & James Cain —host-nested team extraordinaire!

A nice ‘tweet’, is that what is it called on here, to see as I enter the world of bluesky 🦋 Read more about all those genes inside genes here: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39578100/ Truly a pleasure to work with @bertillem.bsky.social, @rebeccaoakey.bsky.social and Rocio Martinez-Nunez on this!

Limoges potato pie is one more people should know. It's made by baking thinly-sliced potatoes, onions, and herbs in a pie shell. Once ready, heavy cream is poured into a hole in the center of the crust until it is full up.

Very excited that our paper describing a critical role for the PNUTS-PP1 phosphatase complex in transcription pause release is up online! This was a massive team effort with @edimitrova.bsky.social and the rest of the @robklose.bsky.social lab www.cell.com/molecular-ce... A short thread: (1/8)

Couldn't wish for a better BlueSky debut post: Our spatial atlas of the developing thymus is now published in Nature! 🥳 www.nature.com/articles/s41... Also check out the other papers in the new Human Cell Atlas collection: www.nature.com/collections/... #singlecell #spatial #multiomics

A long day for the iGReD today ! Thanks to all the SAB member for helping us building a stronger project @crougeulle.bsky.social @brancolab.bsky.social @milanlab.bsky.social &more!

My most liked X post, reposting here: 1 in 10 of the top 100 ‘best’ scientists are named Michael or Eric, but only 3% are female according to Research.com. Putting aside the obvious flaws of the H-index, these numbers are disheartening: research.com/scientists-r... #SciComm #WomenInSTEM

Registration for the second Paris Munich #Epigenetics conference is open! I was there for the first installment (in Munich in 2023), and this was a great forum to mix these two hubs of European epigenetic research. Outstanding program this time around! www.sfb1064.med.uni-muenchen.de/paris_munich...
