Idk how anyone’s take can be ‘the price wasn’t cos of tariffs’ instead of ‘they didn’t expect tariffs to be THIS bad’. No country COULD foresee these tariffs cos in a normal world trade is negotiated and/or based in logic, not shadow dropped using an equation with middle school tier math logic.

It seems to be. The original US price was likely already forecasting for tariffs (but underestimated them). Whereas in Australia the RRP for Switch 2 games might be higher than Switch 1, they’re still cheaper than PS5 RRP

No country or industry has been able to plan for these tariffs because in a normal world trade deals are negotiated and/or based in logic, not shadow dropped using an equation with middle school tier math logic.

Here’s an Aussie’s take:
- A $70 USD RRP PS5 game is equivalent to $110 AUD in conversion, but our RRP is $125 AUD
- Mario kart world is $80 USD RRP ($126 AUD), yet we are being charged $120 AUD RRP.
- So while Nintendo is going above industry standard in USD, in AUD they’re just matching ours.
