"'Security' takes many forms. There is security in knowing that one has a statistically smaller chance of getting shot by an arrow. And then there's the security of knowing that there are people in the world who will care deeply if one is." - Graeber and Wengrow, The Dawn of Everything, page 20

Reading The Dawn of Everything, A New History of Humanity by the late David Graeber and by David Wengrow. Insight on every page. It's refreshing to see nonfiction made in a way that isn't headbashingly boring for the sake of a traditional cadence. I may share my favorite quotes, but read this book.

Have you ever heated a pot of milk to make hot chocolate? Congratulations, you have successfully pasteurized milk. That's literally it. Heat it to a specific temperature (169 degrees Fahrenheit) then cool it back down so it can survive on the fridge shelf for as long as safe. Spread the word!

Reckless driving is a stupid crime. Why should reckless endangerment be a mere 20 dollar fine when you are easily capable of killing an entire family in the blink of an eye? A license shouldn't be a token for special treatment in the eye of the law, if anything, you should be even more responsible.
