I also want to thank my amazing mentors and colleagues. So much has changed since this day 3 years ago when Emily stood by my side at my PhD graduation, but I’m grateful for all the support and for all the professional opportunities that have come my way.

Thanks for highlighting these amazing trailblazers! We just had an event at Pitt Public Health to honor their pioneering work and are working to get them a congressional gold medal.

We also heard from Dr. Joe Sachs who wrote The Pitt episode that shared the story of Freedom House with millions, Harold Sylvester Jr. who played the Freedom House member, and Krystal McNeil, as well as those who have been sharing Freedom House’s story via documentaries and books. Thank you to all!

Join us at Pitt Public Health on Tuesday night for a screening of these scenes and documentaries about Freedom House, followed by a panel discussion (virtual option available if not in Pgh) with members of Freedom House, local professionals who consulted for The Pitt, and other special guests!

Agreed! One of my friends and colleagues consulted on the show and it was very cool to see things she brought to their attention in the first 2 eps. Excited for more! triblive.com/aande/movies...

I love it! And so many good depictions of systemic racism and other major public health issues

Good point. We don’t know that. I’d hope the author would know not to say this, but you never know. No matter what, points to more of a need for sci comm training!

Yes, 100%. I even have a hard time when someone mentions a fight/disagreement with their sister. I’d give anything to fight with my sister again (we were best friends but fought in the way only siblings can).
