Absolutely hate the concept of the u23 teams.
As much as we can find fault in the monetary aspect of the English game, esp the top end of the PL, you cannot fault the structure and the strength of the pyramid.
Hopefully there will never be any avenue or appetite for B teams/u23 teams.

Pro might be ok by the looks of it.
Others are in a right old mess.

That stand behind the goal is one of my favourite up and down the country. Must be a great wee viewing point in the upper tier.

Rio “Hype Man” Ferdinand was more than enough for anyone’s sanity.

Stranraer is my “team” in Scotland.
Went on a local Rangers SC bus trip to Ibrox. Told the club guys to sell my ticket.
Left the ferry as a foot passenger and spent the day watching the mighty Stranraer.
Living it up in the social club. 😂
Jumped back on the bus when they returned from Glasgow.

My earliest memories of Scottish teams in Europe usually involved Aberdeen or Dundee United.

Unfortunately, that Roma side always reminds me of the unsavoury end to the semi final in 84. No doubt oul Jim had them well riled in the lead up but the scenes at the end aren't what you want to see.

Superb piece on a very tragic story about an incredible player.

BBC1.
Richie Benaud.
Tony Lewis.
Ray Illingworth.
Geoffrey “Line and Length” Boycott.
That was my youth. Cricket wasn’t a massive sport in NI but having summers watching test cricket made me a fan for life.

Rick. Tough choice for the veronesi tonight.
Hatred for Napoli but no love for Inter either.
It'll take a few calamaties on Sunday to send your boys down but hopefully a secure result in Empoli will avoid frantic flashscore updates of the league table.

Sevilla are eternally grateful that their cunning ruse lasted so long before those meddling kids at Uefa cottoned onto it.

With the exception of the Poland-Peru game, this group was an abject lesson in binary.

I'd have him up there with Brian Moore.
They let the game do the talking.

@rickhough.bsky.social I know I'm going to love this book. 4 chapters in, the whole feel of the book is beautiful.
Chapters broken into games, nuggets of brilliance about each opponent (never knew there were that many towers in Ascoli!!)
A great book - you cant set down or cant wait to read again.
