So much forgotten and cruel history. And continues to this day. Should never be forgotten or sanitized.

...remain after the remaining Chinese, brought in as miners, were deported. Lung On was a very successful businessman, even owning a car dealership. Doc Hay cured not only the miners but local white folks, many of whom turned to him when the "Western" docs failed. Fascinating place & history. /end

If you find yourself off the beaten track in central/eastern Oregon you should visit the Kam Wa Chung historic site in John Day (seasonal tours offered). The store/medical clinic has been preserved as it was when operating. Doc Hay and Lung On were allowed to 1/2 en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kam_Wah...

Looked at my guide. Looks like bank swallow due to white extending around the back of the neck. Tree swallow does not.

Looks similar to the tree swallows we have on the Oregon Coast but I'm not an expert. Nice photo!

Lori Chavez-Deremer: failing up. Loses her House seat, goes on to serve in the criminal Trump admin.

Hell no, we had an election. Kamala Harris should be inaugurated as president.

Melania next.

Would love for Musk to admit he rigged the election results in several of the swing states and that trump actually lost those states. And provide proof. That would be a major blowup. But what we need is for this administration, every single one of these awful people GONE.

My son used to work for a county in NJ. Most of the employees were limited to 4 days/week so no insurance was provided. With a government job. I wonder if it's the same in Oklahoma. Sen. Lankford should find out.

OMB *is* a high level position! One that most people have never heard of.

Are people forgetting how sharp and amazing Biden was at the the 2024 SOTU address? Did he really age that much over the next six plus months? Or did the stress of the job, overseas travel, Hunter's troubles, being sick (Covid?), campaigning, etc. affect him more harshly. Just musing.

Rep. DeLauro was on 🔥 every time she had the floor. Not just criticizing Vought as she did in this video, but entering facts about what the Constitution says that contradicts his claims (which of course are bullshite). Showing him to be not only cruel, but a liar.

Louisiana might as well have passed a bill banning Sasquatch from entering the state. Especially by air.

💯 This cutie is in the weasel family.

So if a non profit doesn't share the "views" of the admin, they can lose funding? So, things like accurate historical facts that white nationalists dispute? Everything related to DEI? Proven Science?

Obey the law by showing up for a mandated check in and get arrested for being a criminal. WTF?

Vought says he wasn't trying to traumatize all federal workers, just those in bureaucracies that are weaponized against the American people. I'd love to hear which employees are weaponized against the people... park rangers? medical researchers? social security & IRS? meteorologists? etc. etc. etc.

I wonder how many of Rep Chuck Edwards' constituents would lose Medicaid coverage if the Big Bad Bill is passed. You know... since Edwards claims that Americans are behind what the admin/house is serving.

Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR), ranking member of the Budget Commiittee, met with Vought in late January. At a 2/1/25 town hall I attended, Jeff related he told Vought that impoundments are illegal. Vought's response was simply "I don't care". Keep that in mind as he testifies today.

Just started watching. DeLauro is on 🔥.

Whenever I hear Trump complain/whine about how he's being 'persecuted' by attorneys general, prosecutors, etc., all I can say is 'Then quit criming, jerk!' What we're seeing is the result of his never being held accountable. And being defended by lackies like Hawley. And Kate Shaw is amazing.

Over 300K dead kids so far due to Musk. And Trump is also responsible because he let Musk do it.

So: nothing but himself, and gibberish. Great.

Stephen Miller, a guy with a black hole where his heart should be.
comment in response to post
IOW, they're bullies. Just like trump.
comment in response to post
The "who" is Stephen f'ing Miller, trump's right hand man. Miller's own (Jewish) family escaped Nazi Germany. His family has spoken out against him publicly. I hope he's in prison some day for this.

I literally posted that yesterday. How many shooters, bombers, drug and human traffickers are not going to be caught because drumpf/fbi pulled them off those cases to arrest non criminals.
comment in response to post
In an in-person interview months ago, Senator Merkley told Vought that impoundment is illegal. Vought's response was "I don't care". He was apparently speaking for the entire administration. The oath of office they all swore to mean absolutely nothing, and they should all be impeached.

Sacastically "apologizes" by insinuating the town hall attendee who shouted to her is mentally unstable. Refuses to say she'll vote against Medicaid cuts. Tells people they can find religion (assumes those listening are non-Christians) and too bad if they die. Jokes about the tooth fairy. F her.
comment in response to post
Shorter Joni Ernst: so if you lose your Medicaid because I vote for the cuts in the bill and die sooner, at least you can pray to get into heaven (if you believe in that, but I hope you do).
comment in response to post
So mass shooters & bombers and drug & human traffickers can just go wild now right? All so FBI agents can arrest immigrants who've committed no crimes. And zip tie the hands of young kids. 🤬 Unbelievable.

We had a sweet rescue opossum at the aquarium in Newport for a while. Named Otis after the town where he was found after a forest fire ripped thru the area. He was a favorite ambassador animal.

We heard that on our trip there last month... along with stoats rats, cats, etc. All killing your lovely native birds. Can't blame you for wanting the predators gone! Piwakawaka! My favorite bird!
