Something the Skrmetti decision drives home: "Puberty blockers" should be abandoned as a goal; the goal should be HRT for any minor that wants it; puberty blockers should be a tool for minors who choose themselves they need more time to decide and *nothing else*. Compromising achieved nothing, here

going to teach my students about densification in academic writing. if I unpack the first sentence of my Masters thesis, it takes at least 5 sentences and 2 parenthetical definitions of jargon.

I'm particularly seeing a lot of romantasy books wherein women can ally themselves with men in powerful positions in oppressive regimes, and because of Love, they'll then be protected from oppression but will not have to sacrifice their own autonomy in any meaningful way.

Random Fact Off Brand look-alike products are typical used in television productions to avoid IP & Sponsorship related issues. ISS Prop House for example produces “Let's Potato Chips” for use by television & film (and is a surprisingly popular “brand” across the 4th wall)

Judaism doesn’t have a consistent view of the afterlife, but I think a lot of people aren’t aware of how Jewish “hell” is typically understood. The closest equivalent to hell, Gehinnom, is not a place for bad people who reject God. It’s closer to a purgatory that everyone has to go through.

My partner & I were trying to ID a bird we heard while walking and the guy who had stopped his car to let us pass got out and was like "it's a frog, actually. Cope's Gray. I do frog surveys... Sorry" And then got in his car without a word and drove off. Absolute king
