Also you could just do what I did and read the good shit while at the library to hide it from your parents.

The shelves of their local libraries and then no one has access to them. That child may not ever get to go back to the library ever again. That’s reality. I was raised in that culture and I have librarian friends that I’d prefer not be harassed for being responsible for other people’s kids.

Doesn’t matter what I think, some parents are going to. And then if the catch their kid with book with content they don’t like for whatever reason, queer characters, witchcraft, drug use, whatever… they’re going to try and get a librarian fired. Or they’re going to try and remove those books from

Woof, and I don’t think you quite understand prefrontal cortex development.

It actually sounds like a great way to take the responsibility off of the librarians and keep books on shelves.
Do you think a child should be allowed to check out a Stephen King or a Danielle Steele if they’re folks aren’t cool with it? My mom was okay with it but I don’t know if I would be.

Word on the street is Florida’s 1st congressional district has the highest concentration of federal workers in the state. Also it’s where @gayforcongress.bsky.social is running in a special election in April to replace Matt Gaetz.
USE IT OR LOSE IT ♥️

I really appreciate their reporting, especially the interview they did with @faiz.bsky.social but if we’re talking about how powerless democratic politicians are and how thin the house margins are, maybe we could boost some candidates that may have a fighting chance to win back checks n balances

Our *not quite a town* of 700 people was really good at fundraisers. We also had an day where we met on the road in front of the minimart, at the top of the tallest hill in town and we pushed manned outhouses, boxcar derby style in a race to the bottom. We were the most charming rural Louisiana town

Kinda like how when I was growing up we had an fundraiser event down at the local high school called “Donkey Basketball” where the mayor, some aldermen and local business owners in our village rode donkeys on our basketball court and attempted a game. It was SPECTACULAR

For the record, it’s just themed “Bikini Car Wash” I’m thinking barbecue plates, raffles, games, face painting, a few bands and some cars getting washed by pillars of the community in bikinis

I would be so willing to organize a Bikini Car Wash to help Ken Levy pay his light bill while he fights this

Omg thank you so much, I’ve never read National Review…
I’ve not felt hope in a while like how I felt reading the comments on an article about the Fragile GOP Trifecta. Smarty pants republicans are feeling GRIM about debt ceiling, big beautiful bills, unqualified cabinet members and Tarriffs. Lol.

Notice I didn’t say #conservative . Here in my area of Louisiana we have a very large and very under represented population of black democrat voters.
