EXERCISE Compare this: there are more gyms (55,294) than grocery stores (45,575) in US but, according to CDC, only 24% get recommended amount of exercise and 25% do not get any leisure-time physical activity. Are you a spectator or participant in life, as Kennedy put it? MOVE IT OR LOSE IT!

BANANA vs SPORTS DRINKS Study of effectiveness of sugary sports drinks compared to 1/2 a banana found that banana does the equivalent to restore electrolytes but better in providing B6, potassium, antioxidants, and fiber. For best health results when exercising, perhaps use water and the banana.

NATURE/NURTURE & CANCER Study of 44,000 identical twins found exposure to environmental toxins is greatest cause of adult cancer. Genetic predisposition is more prevalent in early childhood cancers albeit rare. Diet and lifestyle management to minimize exposure to deadly toxins is best defense.

PROCESSED MEATS CAUSE CANCERS? Significant research prior Jan 2025 shows what you consume is major contributor to health. Some foods help and others tend to nurture disease. Attention from experts (scientists, public health advocates) given to processed meat. Ans: Not much good about it. AVOID!

IS FOOD ADDICTION REAL? Yes. Addicts may be visible or might be in a different closet eating too much secretively. They typically go for carbs and sugary junk food. They might eat until they get sick or might gorge and purge. They live to eat but don’t want to live that way and want to change.

BREAKFAST Is it Important? Eat a good breakfast including protein within one hour of waking to get your metabolism running. Skipping breakfast signals the body that food is scarce, causing the metabolism to drop into low power mode. For most of us this tends to increase hunger at next meal.

WEIGHTS Benefits of weight training are the ability to help lose LBs and to keep healthy body composition. An increase of muscle mass results in an increase of overall metabolism. This means that the body will use more calories during the day and not only as you exercise. “FEEL THE BURN” ALL DAY!

DENTAL HYGIENE Strong correlation between unhealthy mouth and health problems including cancer. Theory: disease in mouth spreads via bloodstream and leads to greater problems. Recurrent dental issues, including cavities but unrelated to injury, could signal imbalance. Maybe dental treatment?
