We can't - it's a Trump thing - but European nations could.

Thank you for speaking out loudly and clearly.

"And why are they called 'Great Britain'? From now on we're 'Great America' and I want all the maps changed immediately."

Trump wants so much to be a tough guy, a wolf, that his fawning and eagerness makes him easy prey for the real predators

Yet Putin will travel to the US because the United States does not recognize the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC). The US is led by cowards.

Thank you for the update Congressman. Is there someone I can contact to stop these illegal actions?

Stewards and stewardesses too

Great. Now when is the Democratic Party going to organize and present a unified front against this government takeover? One offs by individual politicians only demonstrate the weakness of the Democratic Party.
comment in response to post
Okay, sounds like a good idea. But how? Any ideas on the forum, the messenger(s), how to coordinate, and of course, how to pay for all of it?

A solid idea, and I recommend Timothy Snyder re: Shadow Cabinet. As for Chuck Schumer, perhaps not. Thanks

Just for fun - When I worked for a well known bully called Margaret, I used to call this 'Playing the Mage card'.
comment in response to post
Maybe... But to what end? Is it to learn, and then from that to better position the party for the 2026 and then the 2028 elections? If that's a strategy, you're conceding 2024 and 2025.
comment in response to post
Too calm? Maybe. But your letter is well written and supported by references and your understanding of the area. If you don't mind, what's next? I think we need to reach out to voters asking, 'Do you understand and approve?' The objective - they contact R Reps and say, 'Stop this'. Thanks

I think it sounds like a good idea. But, but, but… What is the goal? - if it’s just info, that’s not much of a goal. Who is the target audience? - if it’s Ds, well that is more echo chamber If we’re not trying to change R Senate votes, we’re conceding the next 2 years to the chaos monkeys
comment in response to post
Respectfully - not Pete Why? Pete evokes a visceral reaction in Rs, like Kamala, and Rs should be the target audience. FYI - I donated to his campaign, paid to see him speak, would have voted for him, and think he would be a great President But we need to win, not stand on principle and lose.
comment in response to post
Respectfully - wrong. We don’t need Ds telling other Ds how valiantly Ds are fighting Doing that concedes the next 2 years We need Ds and Rs in red states contacting their Senators to say ‘This is not what I voted for.’ Then Rs tell Trump/Musk, I can’t support that or I won’t get re-elected
comment in response to post
Spot on - I’ll thank Tim Snyder
comment in response to post
We're outnumbered in the Senate and the House - it's just math - so we need to swing some votes. Thanks.
comment in response to post
- and of course grocery stores, 'Are your grocery bills going down?' Then put that content on every media channel. Transcribe it and provide it free to local newspapers. And yes, maybe a YouTube channel. But the target audience has to be Rs in red states.
comment in response to post
How to do that? Go into red states and start filming; - at senior centers ask, 'Okay to cut your Social Security and Medicare?' - at VA hospitals ask wounded vets, 'Okay to cut your care?' - on farms, 'What are you going to do with crops you can't sell because USAID isn't buying?'
comment in response to post
Respectfully, I think you're targeting the wrong audience. We don't need Ds telling other Ds what we did. We need Rs red states calling their politicians saying, 'This is not what I voted for. Stop it and focus on what we need.' For that, we need Rs riled up.
comment in response to post
Any chance the notes from the meeting can be recovered and made public?
comment in response to post
Okay, but still doesn't make up for Ted Cruz.
comment in response to post
The Ds said they were prepared, 'armies of lawyers' is how I remember it. But their approach is wrong. they are counter-punching and seem lost with no idea how to seize the momentum. As for Trump/Musk, I agree, criminals. But we saw this before, and the Ds should have been out in force Nov. 6th.
comment in response to post
Have they cleared this with Stan Lee's estate?
comment in response to post
I don't hate him I don't think a difference of opinion makes someone a Nazi, or Nazi sympathizer I think D leadership failed to prepare, and still lack a cohesive, winning strategy I think without converting Rs to reject Trump/Musk, Ds are doomed to failure - it's just math No hate, just different

"Bated breath" is an idiom that means to hold one's breath in anticipation or fear. For example, you might wait for a test result or an announcement with bated breath. Just an FYI, no ill intent.

You've filed for an injunction to stop this, right?

If Europe decides to act (yes, a big if), - could Europe provide enough equip. and ordnance in short order to allow Ukraine to hold off the Russians? - could Europe provide enough troops in short order to hold off Russia, or push Russia back to the 2013 borders? - any chance the Finns join? Thanks

Lots of comments about how horrible McConnell was and I couldn't agree more. He is evil. But he was the lone R vote against. Just 2 years ago he ran the place, everyone followed his lead. And now they let him stand alone, the subject of ridicule and abuse. Some justice. Not enough, but some.
comment in response to post
That's really great, nothing like futile gestures to demonstrate how ineffectual you are. As I and others have been saying, ask yourself, 'What would Mitch McConnell do?'
comment in response to post
Cool - I've been telling. my Senators the same thing. He gummed up democracy with no whining.

Senator Schiff, please tell me who to call to get that special session scheduled. Thanks

Because that's what bad gamblers do, double down on losing bets.
comment in response to post
You can do it Senator. we're counting on you.
comment in response to post
It's late in the game Senator and we're losing. So, like a backup quarterback, or a sixth man off the bench, we need you to get into the game and turn the momentum around.
comment in response to post
So, you being a talker and all, maybe it's time to try a new way of talking? Maybe less being verbose and more being direct? Maybe less on the Senate floor and more on Fox News? Maybe less concern and more confrontation?
comment in response to post
I mean you tried, right? You talked, and talked, and talked, just like you did on the January 6th committee, and nothing good happened. Don't get me wrong, you're really good at talking, sometimes even eloquent, but it ain't working. The bad guys won, and are still winning.

We can get mad at Senator Collins, but so what? It’s the people of Maine we should blame . They have re-elected her multiple times.
