But at what cost ?

Wow. This is something I didn't realise we needed laws against: people using AI bots to influence people against their will, for other people's benefit. You might say this is what social media marketing is about. I'd agree. Maybe that also needs tight regulation to avoid psychological damage.

Looking to join a local movie club. Name needs a little work.

Oh no Bluesky, he definitely is cold. There was a press release and everything.

Ok, hear me out..."Wormnado". "Worms on a Plane" ? A remake of 1988's classic "Slugs", set in Ontario ? "Predator vs. Worms", where their cool knife things just make more of them ? Oh, wait! "Cocaine Worm" where these little wrigglers go nuts. Anything to convince me this story is made up.

I remember being driven through Stillorgan as a child, and the council were building a wall from granite blocks. The same council was building a wall near my school in Summerhill...with poured concrete. I asked Dad and he laughed. He said "no one in Summerhill plays golf with the city manager".

Hat tip to the Observer sub but it’ll be lost on anyone under 50

"Minister for Housing James Browne disagreed with Mr Mahlouf’s comments and doubled down on his view that finance, and not planning, was the priority issue, particularly in relation to building apartments in Dublin" It's a 520k build price tag for a 2bed apt that is the problem. Not getting a loan.

PSA; Alexanders are at their most tasty right now. They make a delightful alternative to celery, with an intense fennel like flavour. Pairs great with pork belly. Leaves are great in potato cakes.

I wrote this in July 2016 www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/glo...

The st. Patrick's Day parade in Dublin has made me regret whatever life choices I made that resulted in my being without access to a Sousaphone. I'm very sure I'd be a much happier person with the ability to project loud bass notes of my choice to anyone I wanted.

Was thinking of a driving holiday this year with the family. They reckon they wouldn't be a fan of a few weeks in an ICE facility if someone got the hump. Realistically, it's only happening to a few dozen tourists a week, right ? No different than holidaying in Russia or something.
