@aviationintel.bsky.social greatly looking forwards to your thoughts on NGAD, as hinted at in piece on J-36. Is ‘aerial cruiser’ (~J-36) capability gap vs. B-21 enough to keep both platforms? Struggling to make sense of US strategy: NGAD → paused, subsonic B-21 → full swing, UCAVs, tankers MIA 🤯

@valkstrategy.bsky.social still ruminating on J-36. I especially struggle to make sense of the NGAD pause. Forgoing range + supersonic speed now seems like a *big* bet. Is it too simple to say that more NGADs & fewer B-21s would make more sense than the other way around? Thoughts welcome.

@mgemancipation.bsky.social unrepentant news junkie here (👋🏻). Iraq 2003 was my coming of age. Been thinking about it a lot lately (and reading your blogs!). Suspect this failure is much more relevant today than its lack of prominence would suggest. More blogs on this topic welcome!

@valkstrategy.bsky.social first thought re third engine w/top inlet on Chinese fighter/bomber: turbofan for range? A crude three-stream adaptive cycle? Or is that silly?

@davidallengreen.bsky.social I think you’ve blogged something about statements being meaningless if the reverse argument is nonsensical. Like: no politician will say «we won’t prioritise NHS» out loud, yet plenty seek credit for prioritizing it. Any tips for search terms?

Norwegian frigate procurement – what is the Norwegian navy looking for, and what are the candidates? Monster thread incoming!

@cherylrofer.bsky.social I recently finished The Making of the Atomic Bomb by Richard Rhodes and am interested in a similar account of the start of the Soviet nuclear weapons program. Do you have any recommendations?
