I would suggest that whenever any podcast is cited, the author include a politifact link. We can check ourselves before we wreck ourselves.

I lived in DC for more than 40 years and worked under or with every administration since Jimmy Carter. Here’s the thing: no matter the bluster, DC real politik understands these people are going away at a point. Trump is trying to institutionalize his stupidity, but it will fail.

Executive Orders are binding on executive branch agencies, including VA - unless Congress overrides it. A motion to override could pass the House as there are 3 Republican held seats in purple or blue districts, and 3 senate seats in purple or blue states.

That would be bizarre and the legal consequences to her would be severe. In some states with a very loose Castle Doctrine, he could have killed her in his driveway. We have a lot of crazy laws.

I worked in tech as a software engineer, sales engineer, consultant, marketing engineer and marketing manager over 45 years. At no point was SV “democrat”. It was more socially liberal because high IQ work forces are different. There was never any illusion about the VC and Hedge funds.

There are nearly 400,000 HOA type organizations in the US representing some 75 million homes. You know even 1% of crazy people will be a lot of extraordinarily bizarre behavior.

I have never seen anything like that, but we had a neighbor who got a permit for a deck, which he used to add a fully enclosed set of rooms onto his house. The HOA called the fire marshall who condemned it, and the owner had to pay to have it removed.

/2 But yes, they are legal and chartered by many states as a legal entity. They can’t violate state or federal laws and must ensure non-discrimination and accessibility to all owners. They can restrict short-term rentals so your neighborhood doesn’t become a holiday home nightmare.

At least in the US, it’s rare for an existing community to form an HOA. It’s more common a developer will design a community with the HOA in mind. Sometimes, it’s relatively light: just keep up lawns and home exterior. In others, they provide community services like lawncare.

That he’s explicitly targeting Democratic cities won’t help him in court

Except the overflights were canceled, tanks did not “roll along the Mall” (they used city streets) soldiers ambled bored, expressing their disdain and there were empty seats than attendees who were wet, glum, and largely silent. You fell for his canned cheering, didn’t you? Typical Pravda.

That’s one shitty TV actor salute. First rule, button your jacket. Second rule, you’re a civilian who never served. You don’t get to salute.

So, LAPD continues the notorious traditions of Rampart Division in escalating whenever it can, and planting people to incite where it can’t? Where is Mayor Bass?

I worked up a comparison of political, economic, and social pressures from the 1860’s compared with today. The same fractures have reemerged, the difference is instead of cotton, it’s oil, gas, and coal.

Grüße aus Delaware! Bin ehemalige Augsburg Einwöhner! We live highlighting the failures of other governments (“American Exceptionalism”) and refuse to acknowledge our own history. We’ve marginalized the causes of the rise of the Confederacy by blaming the North over slavery. It’s much worse.

That’s a valid point as many terrorists in this century have used extremist religious beliefs as a justification. In the 20th Century, more were premised in socialism/communism. Perhaps, it’s two sides of the same coin?

Fear of Trump. Fear of lawsuits by Trump, and fear of violence against them by Trump’s supporters.

In every historical society that experienced this highly violent male domination, that society experienced rapid decline and collapse. Republicans are pushing the same policies and social model of the totalitarian Confederacy, and with equally disastrous results.

A system of a whole does not exist for the convenience and benefit of the few. Yes, it’s possible we’d lose seats. It’s also likely we’ll continue to lose seats because of performative nonsense instead of actual fighting back.

That’s likely career ending, ironically for the same reasons Trump’s Nuremberg Rally was morally wrong: both dragged the military into partisan politics.

I don’t think that’s a reasonable analysis. He felt there should be no safe seats for career members of Congress who are in safe blue districts and can ignore more sensitive, less popular groups and issues.

The assault on Senator Padilla could lead to the arrest of Noem. She's not immune to state laws regardless of her bureaucratic title.
