As you watch the cops tear gas an entire neighborhood as punishment for protesting their extrajudicial arrests, consider that the people who said defund the police/abolish ICE were not, in fact, asking too much!

horrifies some of the same people who cheered when Trump promised to do it. There are true sociopaths who love this, but "No, I meant only the BAD people!" is as likely a reaction as enthusiasm. You cannot do immigration policy that satisfies these people because what they want is nonsensical.

Like, this isn't *just* coming from reactionary centrists. It's very much coming from inside the house, as a bunch of depressed people on the left are eager to convince everyone that all is lost. Hence why they keep bleating about how Trump will use this to invoke the Insurrection Act.
