I chose the hashtag I used for my initiative because it was the name of a photography group I created almost 20 years ago. But who cares, right? Call attention to your art any way you like. You're grown, so I don't give half a fuck. But when I see you, I block you. Starting 30 minutes ago.

So, imagine my dismay when I found that instead of helping to save a dying form, others had taken my initiative and used it as just another attention-seeking device. I mostly don't blip to what people do here. But when you usurp and shit on something I care about, that's personal. (cont.)

Again, if it died there, no big deal. I've been a street photographer since 1970. It was MY first great love. I don't expect others to feel the same way. As early as I can recall, I'd visit the library to read every photography book they had. I knew the history of the art like my own name. (cont.)

If it had been due a lack of interest, I wouldn't have minded. But that isn't what happened. A few people decided they liked the photo challenge aspect but decided the human-centric street photography bit was trivial, thus missing the entire point of what I was doing. So, I killed it. (cont.)

Thank you so much. I truly appreciate your kindness and support. I rubbed some paint off my canvas during this process, but I finally figured out what I could do with it.

My lovely Maria is doing as well as can be expected. She's had some health challenges. But she's a trooper, and we're still churning out art.
