It's bourgeoisie angst masquerading as fight for freedom and expression. Which is why they're so effective for the usual wired crowd, IMHO.

Silver lining is, the resolution received almost universal support across most of the globe, even from traditionally staunch US allies from outside the EU.

The particular species tend to grow pretty slowly, so I need them in the incubator for about two weeks, maybe another week give or take.

That's wonderful news! IMHO this is one tutorial I'm really eager to run through and share with labmates once there's more material

Yeah I just think grown adults with a whole history of life and loved ones behind them should not be so hung up on a test they took in high school.

Here we show that within-cell competition is key to plasmid evolution. Look at this photo of plasmids competing inside cells in a colony!!!

So many great scientists contributed papers to the special issue! To get an overview over the history and state of phylogenetic models and the papers of the issue, you might want to start reading the introduction to the issue doi.org/10.1098/rstb... and then dive into the variety of exciting papers!

Yep I'm looking for downstream reagent replacement for trizol based high molecular weight DNA extraction.
It would be funny if it's just one of the ammonium, since MPC bottles seem to go for $1300!

Yep, only component listed is ammonium acetate and water though - these things are $1300 per bottle so I'm thinking there might be more in it, just classified nonhazardous.

Oh yeah that would be a great idea. Fantastic for the local economy along the routes too

Oof. I might end up taking the chance this time though. Amtrak cross country trip is a dream of sorts for me.
Just wish the roomettes were slightly cheaper.
