like opening a set with this will destroy you, into typhoon, into the demo of river call me.... especially considering where i was at mentally at the time (it was a few days before a big loss), i think i wanna keep reaching out like i did back then. i'm doing really, really not well, but musics kwl

best way to use it! glad i have 10yrs of info about my music taste, also glad i don't have 10yrs of weird forum trauma from weird people

glad they exist for the people who enjoy that scene. definitely never looking at them again lol

haha dw, initially i was a bit bummed but then i saw the way they generally interacted with people on that site and realised they're Just Like That, and some people do just be that way haha

obviously different strokes, everyone likes different things in art, but there are absolutely ways to not be a prick about it if you don't like something. i'm pretty sure they sent me a DM a year or so ago hitting on me too so like... yeah, don't do that!

For anyone else who backed it's worth speaking with your bank in case they can do anything to help reclaim the dosh. So frustrating that they've been radio silent for this long just to jpg their site.

to anyone who preordered the MTAE vinyl; i'm so sorry. i'm glad they're finally being open about the situation, but it doesn't make it easier. explains why they've been non-responsive for months.

the song is mostly about the fact that i assumed i wouldn't make it to 30. and there's still time, so

both options are really expensive and both tie you down to specific ways of DJing so there's no wrong answer. i've heard the denon audio stuff is good for beginning too tho!

depends on your goal! if you just wanna DJ locally or online, traktor stuff IMO is the best. if you wanna eventually DJ in clubs, it's worth learning stuff that's backwards-compatible with rekordbox so you can prep for CDJs

thats great to hear! i had a similar situation with yung lean back in 2015, did a gig swap thing where i'd drag a friend to a show and he'd drag me to one, i took him to the hotelier, and he took me to yung lean and it ended up being a catalyst for me understanding that whole scene

i've found that listening to prince of denmark w/ a 2x speed podcast works well to smoothe the brain wrinkles

it's also worth mentioning that i'm not blasting young people for not necessarily being able to develop gig ettiquette during the lockdowns, the people who were being awful at the show were (to hazard a guess) both around 35-40, even less excuse for their behaviour lol

just so you know my general stance; even if you DON'T know an artists entire catalogue or engage with it in an extroverted manner live, you're just as entitled to be there as anyone else who's bought a ticket, and you should always treat others the same. basic respect shit, y'know??

sorry to complain on main, just something i really hope shifts in club/gig culture. people just having a good time, not acting like they are the arbiter of good times and that anyone "not on their level" is therefore a fake fan or whatever. thats all!! thank you for reading my pointless rant lol

to have a good time on my own terms with my friends. it's happened a couple times before but never like that. i'd had a really shitty start to 2025 personally and that frankly just felt like a slap in my face during the first time i was starting to feel good lol

that's ever happened, and made me SO fucking uncomfortable for the rest of the show. they were also c*ked up and screaming their conversation over the entire show. they also started grabbing at my shoulder to try continue their "oh you like nirvana? name 5 songs" kinda bullshit when i just wanted...
