With Goold’s report about shopping for relievers, is there a chance that if they sign, say Robertson or Kimbrel that they might reconsider moving Helsley since both those guys can close?

Goold said they’re still looking at relievers. If they sign, say Kimbrel or David Robertson, would they reconsider a Helsley trade since they’d have someone else who can close? Holding onto him makes me nervous.

Do they honestly think they can contend with this group or are they just telling us what they think we want to hear?

They just love talking out both sides of their mouths. No clear plan and fully content to bank on hope and stay stuck in the middle. Do they actually think they can contend with this group or are they just telling us what they think we want to hear?

Jeff where’s chip on the broadcasts? Is he all good?

Somewhat off topic here but where has Chip Caray been on the broadcasts?

Were they getting bad offers for Helsley or did they just outright refuse to trade him?

Not saying Pujols isn’t smarter or the Guardians got it wrong I just think Schumaker is our best bet

Well it didn’t work with Matheny

I think it would make more sense to go for Skip if they’re gonna get rid of Oli. They need someone with MLB managerial experience.

Why is Gray not pitching? Is something wrong?

Could have even gotten some good prospects if they were smart and traded Helsley

Why is it weird? They said he likely wasn’t going to be traded at this point

Somewhat off topic here, but are they reconsidering trading some starters (Fedde, Matz) after the Arenado trade failed?

Will they look to trade Matz and Fedde with Arenado likely staying?

Jeff, are they going to try and trade from the rotation (Fedde and Matz) now that the Arenado trade is off the table?

Are they gonna ask Nolan to expand his list or have they given up on a trade?

Brenden, do you believe that Mo is trying to get Arenado to expand his list, or has he just given up on a trade?
comment in response to

I’m not sure this is over just yet. Ball’s in Nado’s court now. If he truly wants out, he’ll tell Mo he wants to expand his list, and I think he’d still rather go to a contender than stay here. I imagine Detroit might give Mo a call.

But now you can tweet that it’s a great day to trade for Nolan Arenado

How much money are the Cardinals willing eat to get something done? Even if they have to eat most of it, isn’t it better to cut some payroll instead of keeping him and not cutting any, if that’s their goal?

Is a trade to Boston unlikely too or are you talking about between the cards and yanks?

Have the red sox pivoted from bregman to arenado? If not, is that something they’re at least considering?

If Arenado is traded, would you expect additional FA moves for RHB and bullpen or is this gonna be it?

Kinda feels like Bloom’s fingerprints are on this one since he was with the Rays for a minute

Did the DeWitt’s say that if they can’t trade Arenado they would allow Mo to make a move or two in free agency at Winter Warmup? I thought I read somewhere that they did
comment in response to

I’d be open to the idea as long as one of Mikolas or Matz is in the bullpen and they. Those guys shouldn’t be guaranteed a spot. If this is truly a youth movement, let the young guys start.

Tell me if this is accurate but did Bill III say he would accommodate and let Mo spend on things like RHB and bullpen even if Nado isn’t traded at WWU?

Goold reported that there were some teams willing to renegotiate for Arenado. Do we know who those teams are?
