Beanie originally done flat, seamed, garter stitch, that was too loose & short & had a large hole left in the top… unraveled it this morning, & tried to knit it in the round w/ decreases in the crown. 🫣🤗 Came out bigger & more like a bucket hat, but a smaller hole left on top 🧶 #knitting

Decided to switch to smaller, straight needles & keep things consistent with garter stitch. For me, the velvet on circulars was harder to maintain tension. This is a much tighter fabric & I originally wanted more stripes anyway. 🎉💚🧶 #knitting #beginnerknitter

Here’s that velvet cowl I made after machine washing & drying. Lots of loops & strings came loose, but it’s still warm for chilly mornings at home… but should I have used smaller needles to get a tighter weave? This was 1st of several variables; not really surprising! 😅🧶 #knitting #beginnerknitter

1st time using the wool-ease yarn & it’s NOT my fave. I found it really difficult to use for anything more intricate, so unraveled it a few times before deciding to go for a simple garter stitch cowl. Also, new 9mm needles & not sure if that’s part of why it feels so weird? 🤷🏻‍♂️🧶 #woolease #knitting
