Generally try to stay anonymous, but I love history, philosophy, science fiction and fantasy, weird horror, playing and writing music, writing books, video games, and pinball. May have been a space rock on Twitter. Fan of most nerddoms.

It makes almost no sense, tbh.

No. Even Homan is giving indications of not knowing what will actually happen. They know they fucked up hard, here. While the entire thing is unconscionable, what we seem to all be watching is a coverup that the people doing it now realize is going to fail. They thought it would last one news cycle.

People take some off highway gas station filled with meth heads as evidence of an entire culture. And yet don't do the same to the exact same places in almost any big city.

The dude is from goddamned Middletown, aka Cincinnati. He had a relative who grew up poor. Just like every other person who lived in KY or OH back then. Ridiculous, authoritarian fabulist.

This reply actually means more to me than any reply I've gotten here. Thanks for being kind! 😂

Bukele is not stupid. He is much closer to a supervillain than Trump. Brutal, corrupt, cruel, with shifting commitments, but ultimately a survivor and quite smart.

It depends on your employer/401k. Most have a defined period in which if it isn't paid off, it's considered a taxable disbursement.

Exactly this. I work with a lot of people on a weekly basis. I like to know how they want to be addressed. I do not care about their identity, I just want to not needlessly offend them or to cause confusion. Pronouns in e-mail made life EASIER.

But how else would edgelords be able to have bios like "my pronouns are fuck/I'm/lonely"

Oh, I get that. I just found it interesting that their actual legal position is he couldn't prove he wasn't a member. That's not how law or logic works.

Same here. I was completely wrong about his being the best we'd get for Sec of State. He's an absolute fucking monster.

How would one prove one is not a member of MS-13, exactly? Is our standard here that we actually are asking people to prove a negative?

There was a Kentucky cop who did that and would bust your taillight out when done. Betting he got hired down there after getting fired

"First they came for the potheads and first is sort of a weird word, don't you think? It sort of rhymes with worst. A bratwurst sounds really good. I'd get one if they weren't out to get me. I should go post online, it's safer. Do I have mustard?"

How long til they demand AI companies remove it from their training data? Oh wait, what was Zuck just doing? 👀

Or did you misspell mourning and you're a monster?

My favorite part of the commentary on any of his stuff is he's so good people feel the need to point out when he misses a shot. 😂

I stopped taking fashion seriously when I realized that I would tell people that if they're just looking for quality, they should spend 1/5th the price on the SAME exact item in the SAME room, and no, they would not. They wanted that label. The label, not the quality, was the entire thing.

I hadn't either, previously. Nor do I believe that it was likely a large amount of people saying the phrase shouldn't be used. I think people just started using plastic more.

I had a job offer a few years back contingent on my moving overseas. They would of course pay less, but the standard of living would have been way higher. I considered it an oddly perverted system for a company who was very America rah-rah.

I'm on the opposite side of the millennial spectrum from you, so totally get it. Y'all rock, btw.

It's part of why I have been so staunchly opposed to him the whole time. It's relatively clear exactly what he is, and that is one of the few types of people who, if you were to have a proper carceral system, you would want as far away from society as possible.

Brown-bag lunch was super, super common a few decades ago. Because we took our lunch to work in brown bags. I don't even think I could estimate the number of times I've heard that phrase in person. Definitely hundreds, potentially many thousands.

Oh god, it's the "chestfeeding" article again. 😂

Psychopaths are rarely as successful at it as this. That sort of thing is extremely rare in the real world. Most of them are just brutal and don't give AF.

The biggest monster of a human being I know, who is now justifiably in prison for a long time, was the most affable, likeable, and "nice" guy I'd met. Until you had something he wanted or he felt like you had insulted him. The whole hurting animals and kids as a kid thing was a giveaway.

Same in my experience.
