So because there is tragedy in the world there should never be any enjoyment of anything. Wow you're horrifying. You would have condemned King for taking a few hours to watch Star Trek.

It's not "bowing down" to take a few hours to enjoy something! Humans are not machines--we need rest or we burn out. What you're encouraging will only lead people to abandon causes entirely because they mentally cannot keep going.
Activist leaders still take breaks! Look it up!

Yeah so it should have happened centuries ago since it's not like this is RARE.

Wanting people to go 100% for their causes and if they look away for an instant it means they somehow don't care is horrific and encourages fast burnout. It's telling people to be something other than people. Stop that.

Idk how appreciating arts for two hours is somehow taking away from our ability to look at the world issues, especially with how fascism threatens the open expression that art brings.

Appreciating the arts is important. Calling that "banal" when arts are always the first thing to come under fire from fascism is really unsettling.

Basic observation would have sufficed really.

Again though it seems like nobody really discusses it. That's why this is surprising.

Why are you putting tragedy in quotes?
The world should never stop. If it did we would never get it to start again.

How much time do you think a program like this takes up? Even the people directly involved have lives they can easily fill with other things, such as activism. Do you really believe that appreciating art means we can't be aware of the world around us?
Human brain doesn't work how you think it does

When it creates extra work for the patron? Expecting everyone to download a special app that may not even work on their phones just to read a menu isn't a matter of making anything easier for anybody.

And the best way to fight stigma is to ignore it. Seriously, people have had these issues through all of history and we only started looking seriously this recently? It's bizarre is what it is.

It's neither convenient nor fast nor simple

They did that before then. And covid didn't put QR scanners on phones. Plus if you're already in the restaurant, why NOT have a menu? You can have them laminated for easy sanitation.

In college my professor was talking about Karl May and asked casually if anyone knew Hadchi Halef Omar's full name and not only did I know it but I had to explain that I knew it because of a German disco band from the 80s

Clive had better be one of my birthday presents. I don't want to burn all my gems for him but I will if I have to.

Which is weird considering it wasn't NEW. People have always developed traumatic reactions to severe stressors and somehow it took two world wars for that to be examined? There was a vague notion of shell shock before that but even that was limited. Heck, linking it to active combat is limited.

Do you think people should only fight and that any looking away for a moment is somehow a failure? MLK famously enjoyed science fiction shows. Everyone needs a mental break, even the most dedicated activists.

Why do we even have gendered acting awards anyway? Never made sense to me.
comment in response to

So you say that there's nothing wrong with being nonbinary and then immediately misgender them. Getting mixed messages from you.

Do you believe that when a tragedy is happening everybody else in the world should drop everything and only focus on that? We would never get anything done if we did that.

Geez I'd slap anyone who tried to put me in that position. Frickin wild that anyone even tries that shit.

Someone needs to push him out a window and they need to do it immediately.

Seriously? That's funny given no one really *talks* about it. The most I see people discussing Corviknight is in relation to Tinkaton.

Wtf. Again, stand with Jews against Zionism. Stop watering this down with accusations of antisemitism. Dickwaffle.

Trans women are women, not men. You're inventing your own arbitrary definition that rampantly denies people's identities and claims to know them better than they know themselves in order to convince yourself that you're somehow justified.

Again you're the only one bringing up being GNC even though that's not what anybody is discussing.

You're the only person here yammering about "deception". You made that up on your own.

If you're using genslop then you're not making fanfic. And also you're a bad person.

Even if someone DID make them enlist, nobody is making them mindlessly obey and abandon their morality. Someone who's against an evil deed but does it anyway STILL COMMITS THE EVIL DEED and people need to realize that.

It's about a character who had probably less than 20 minutes of screen time in one movie, was briefly referenced a few years later, and since the series ended a few years ago, that's *it*.
This guy from Pokémon 2000

Pointing out Zionists is not antisemitism in any way whatsoever. Jews all over the world oppose Zionism, including those in Israel, and they're being stifled by world media and often face imprisonment for it. Stand with them, not against them!
