... should the focus be on taxing more visual or spatial aspects of the processing? I think you could hypothesise it either way, so for now it's an open empirical question.

But it's a very interesting line of thought - the authors discuss the importance of differentiating between "visual" and "spatial" aspects of "visuospatial" processing ability, including whether this could inform design of post-trauma visuo-spatial interference interventions (e.g. Tetris), i.e....

I do wonder whether it is really only the "spatial" measure that should be thought of as the "ability", i.e. the extent to which one can manipulate imagery in working memory, whereas the the "object"/"visual" imagery measure just reflects the subjective experience
