It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

we are all understandably wondering "how afraid should i be?" but that's not actually a helpful question because even if it were answerable, the information wouldn't be useful. the question we need to be asking is "what power do i have?" and one thing i know for a fact you all can do is be annoying.

Math is hard

I can’t help but believe we are close to that 3.5% tipping point. Keep up the phone calls. Keep up the protests. Keep up the boycotts. Love will always trump hate. www.bbc.com/future/artic...

🚨 NEBRASKA 🚨 AG Mike Hilgers entered NE into this lawsuit that will gut or cut Section 504. Kids and adults with disabilities deserve protections, and our state being part of this suit is an EMBARRASSMENT… (Also, don’t forget to leave your address and zip code if you have to leave a message…)

Signs. Of. Life. Protest outside Treasury Dept. tonight.

Today, resistance looked like calling my elected representatives to share my views on important legislation that impacts me, my family, my students, my neighbors, and my community. “Tyranny is eroded by a sea of small acts. Everything matters.” @aoc.bsky.social apps.apple.com/us/app/5-cal...

Just a friendly reminder that there are many Nebraskans that stood and stand for humans rights and decency.

Elon Musk, who has not been elected or officially appointed to any office, successfully pushed the FAA Administrator to resign 9 days ago.

"Remind yourself constantly that no one gave you your identity, truth, or power, and no one can take them away without your permission." ⤵️

Call it a purge, not a buyout. Call it a coup against Congress, not a spending pause. Call it censorship, not a review. Words matter, and we in the media have a chance to do better this time.

This is America. www.lemkininstitute.com/red-flag-ale...

Today, resistance looked like: •Therapy to unpack religious trauma •Feminist Theatre class with incredible colleagues •Cackling with friends & quoting Dumb & Dumber •Watching TMNT with the kids

These are the small touches of kindness and thoughtfulness that are going to help get me through the next few years.

I do feel like we forget that a mere 100 years ago 20% of children in America just fucking died.

Y’all… we don’t deserve dogs.

I got the distinct pleasure of presenting at the Nebraska Thespian Festival for the second year in a row. ITS was integral to my development as a theatre educator. The community and opportunities for teachers and students is unparalleled. Hope to see you again next year, Thespians!

Deb Fischer’s husband showed his whole ass when Kamala did her swearing in. What a colossal albeit unsurprising embarrassment they are to our state and country.

I miss the days when we agreed that the one in the middle is THE WORST and at least 3/5 of these men are war criminals.

Hot damn… #Nosferatu was an absolute gothic masterpiece. The tone, cinematography, editing, transitions, music, acting, directing… all were absolutely top notch.

Movie Night is for the *whole* family.

We sculpted holiday decorations this week. Years of reading Calvin & Hobbes clearly infiltrated my subconscious.

It was a helluva semester, but my grades just dropped, and my 4.0 remains intact. I’m accepting applause through the end of the week.

I’m so exhausted by decision-makers in education refusing to invest in long-term solutions. If you don’t have the resources to do it right, you don’t have the resources to do it at all.

The culture wars, the race wars, the gender wars...all smoke screens for the war they don't want you to fight. The class wars.
