Yes! A big problem I have with many JRPGs that feature female "progagonists" is that they are often just an avatar or there is a male protagonist alongside her that steals her spotlight (Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn is the worst offender. Fuck that Ike guy, he had his own game before)

Music in general. I think music is as important if not better as the story of the game Music is a great vector when it comes to carrying emotions. It is also what I usually remember the most about a game
