His murder is a reminder that Hamas are no heroes - they too are mass murderers of innocents, including peace-builders. Perhaps something we need to be reminded of after more than a year of genocidal violence by Israel against Palestinians. May Oded's legacy be picked up by others.

This was a man who in his life has defended Bedouins against the IDF, who reported as a journalist on the 1982 Beirut camp massacre, who had worked to build peace, who has cared for his Palestinian neighbors.
