Overall, I highly suggest this demo if the game looks like something you'd enjoy. It was a very seamless experience and I could see myself lost in this for hours. My only hope is that I can decorate my office on full release. Anyway, make sure to wishlist!

...and the macro fail state felt hard to accomplish. Mostly, this is just a fun & cozy game to sit back and relax to and I think it's very well implemented.

...specific number of colored tiles together, specific number of trees, etc). Your goal is to get as many points as you can while properly rebuilding the land.
I found the puzzle aspect of this game to be extremely relaxing. There were fail states, but the micro fails weren't the end of the world...

Each tile is a hexagon with a specific color and items on it. Matching the colors of the tiles and/or the items on each side of the hexagon to other hexagon sides yields the most points and the best layout. Ontop of this, each hexagon will sometimes have side-quests attached to them (ie. match a...

...you see and interact with things on your own terms; it feels very nice. All the characters are super cute and their dialogue is well written and engaging to read.
Then there's the puzzles. If you've ever played Dorfromantik you can already tell how the puzzle mechanics kind of work.

...pace & the way you want. When you're done with each puzzle, log off the computer and talk with your co-workers & get to know them better.
I was very drawn in to this by the art style. I love low poly graphics, I'm an absolute sucker for them. Luckily you CAN walk around the low poly office...

The sixth demo I tried was Bubblegum Galaxy, a low poly cozy puzzle game all about rebuilding the galaxy one tile at a time, but not during my lunch break! You intern at an office and on your first day there's a colossal computer failure (been there, done that). Work to rebuild, but do it at your...

Overall I really did love this demo & I highly suggest checking it out. Me missing something doesn't mean you will. However, I would love for more communication to be added to the experience. Enjoy the demo & make sure to wishlist before it comes out next month

...sitting there bashing my head against every pixel to find where to go or what to do. I didn't even know I could drill for half the experience. There were bits of lore to be picked up but nothing meant anything to my quest. I found 3 of 4 kids I needed to progress and then spent the next however..

I find many of these 'retro' inspired games tend to be extremely bad at communicating literally anything to the player at all. Regardless of that being an intentional design decision or not, I have to bring it up as a negative. There are 2500 demos in Next Fest and I don't have the time to be...

...in adding that extra layer of depth to the world and each new area I was to explore.
I also really just loved the design of everything. The UI is nice, the characters were nice, the world was nice - I liked everything there was to like about the visuals.
That said, I hit a wall pretty quickly.

...to it's retro style. I love the art of this game so much and I loved it even more when I got into the demo. The art is not only perfectly done, imo, but then there are color palette shifts for certain areas, along with music shifts or remixes to add to the mood. These shifts were instrumental...

The fifth demo I tried was Everdeep Aurora, a side scrolling adventure game where you play as Shell, a small feline child looking for her mother. Journey through the underground with your drill to uncover the mysteries and find out what happened to your mom.
This game initially appealed to me due...

...balancing & a little more in terms of tutorials or communication. Something to look forward to after each run would also be nice.
I do still suggest checking out the demo for yourself. It's a very competent game & it's made very well. Make sure to wishlist!!

...gross/gorgeous and in a fantastic way; it's all implemented so well, the filter included. The music is also killer and I really did just want to get into it and do runs for a while. Unfortunately I just didn't get it.

...and go back to the hub and then there seemed to be nothing to upgrade, no one to talk to, just nothing. No reason. Honestly the biggest issue of the whole game was just a complete lack of communication to the player.
And that's too bad, because I *wanted* to love this game. The art is...

...through the third room, I kept dying before I could reach anything substantial. I don't know that a demo for your game should be that hard, but obviously this will vary person to person. I found it to be not fun.
And to that end, I didn't know what the point of my runs was either. I would die...

...for this was due to the game not communicating any information to the player; you're just kinda thrown in with no direction so you're left stumbling about.
The game also felt extremely over tuned. It might just be skill issue but I'm not *that* awful at games I think. However I never made it...

...for the dialogue to breath. I felt so overwhelmed by this and it almost messed up my experience of the game.

For the love of all that is good, please reduce dialogue, or make some cutscenes, or ensure the map design is a lot of empty space so there is time...

There is SO. MUCH. TALKING. lol I completely understand needing to get the plot to the audience, but the way it was done just in your ear at all hours of the day while you're just trying to focus on combat was, frankly, beyond annoying. I couldn't focus on what was being said, cause I was playing...

...enemy design was great, I adore the movement in the water and how it was all implemented. The main character, Grey, is well designed; I like the 'weapons' he has and how he moves. Just truly a wonderful time to play and be apart of.
That said, my main complaint was the amount of dialogue.

Additionally, all combat is in water, which means you can not only dodge backwards/forwards but up/down. This completely 3D movement is much of what makes the game so fun. I'm a huge DS1 and other souls-likes fan, but many confuse what make the genre so enjoyable or just...
