Imagine looking at an otherworldly creature that has SUCCEEDED in destroying the planet and going, "That's thing is lame"

#16 Access Denied Escape Short but sweet puzzle game that escape room enthusiasts will like. Is included in many bundles, but I think the $5 price is fair for this one. You'll finish it in one sitting. Only complaint is that the hint system will just flat out tell you the answer.

#15 For the King II Another case of, "Did you like the first game? You'll like this one" Recently patched to help with UI issues, For the King II is more of what we loved from the original. The higher difficulties are still a bit too much to handle for myself, but game is a blast with friends.

It is difficult to pick one game, but if we're going off the idea that the person has never played a JRPG, I'd go with Super Mario RPG. Its a great way to teach basics of a turn based JRPG to newcomers.

#14 Visions of Mana I really enjoyed Trials when it came out on Switch so I was excited for this one. Visions of Mana is easily the best of the series with combat that is fun with every character and an emotion story that will stay with you. Must play for action JRPG fans.

#13 Adventures of Pip Fun 2D platformer with a unique mechanic of changing your abilities. You'll be swapping from a pixel block to a fully animated hero multiple times a stage to get 100%. Well worth picking up for a night or two of old school gaming.

#12 - Astalon: Tears of the Earth Thought this would just be a simple NES style game, but this Metroidvania clocked in just under 20 hours for me. Fun game, but if you're not a fan of backtracking or replaying screens, you'll probably hate this one. Enjoyed my time, but no plans to ever play again.

#11 - Dragon Quest III 2D-HD Remake This is such a great way to experience DQ III. Definitely keeps the old school JRPG feel. You're gonna have to grind for a bit to finish this one, but if you are familiar, that is nothing new. Enjoyed my time with this one and excited for I+II.

#10 - Mekabolt Randomly fired this one up last night. Super short puzzle platformer. Its not bad, but feels more like a flash game. I can only assume I got this one on sale or through a bundle. Not worth the full $5 price tag, but there are worse ways to spend 45 minutes.

#9 - Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines I was a huge fan of the first game, so I happy to finally sit down and play through this one. Luna is a fun addition and playing through her stages along with Pablo's is great. If you liked the first one, you'll like this one.

I consider Breath of Fire III a must play for JRPG fans.

#8 Cassette Beasts Originally saw this as a Pokemon clone, but after spending 20 hours finishing it, I can confirm it is so much more than that. Deep story, unique and fun turn based battle system, incredible soundtrack. You should absolutely give this one a chance. (Maybe avoid the Switch version)

#7 Gestalt: Steam & Cinder Short but fun Metroidvania. Aletheia is a really cool protaginist and the world is interesting. Boss battles are a highlight, but combat against normal enemies was a bit tedious, even when I hit max level. Pick it up when its on sale.

#6 Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom Fun and silly 3D platformer where you're a toy taxi. Unique control scheme as you can't really jump. I enjoyed my time with it, but no plans to go back and complete it 100%. Worth checking out if you enjoy the graphic style.

Jet Set Radio was one of the first games I owned on the Dreamcast, along with Sonic Adventure and Zombie Revenge. JSR was also the first Dreamcast game I beat, as I really couldn't stop playing it. I wanted to see every character, explore every stage, and hear every song.

Also while the music had no chance of reaching the greatness of the original, I did enjoy what I heard here.

#5 - Rollergames Recently watched Rollergames from 1989. Show lasted one season yet has an NES game, and its pretty good. Its not a lost masterpiece, but a short and sweet platformer/beat em up with great music. Most surprising is they captured the likenesses of people from the show.

#4 Ys X While I'm still sour about NIS pulling an Atlus and releasing what seems to be a directors cut with a year, Ys X was still a fantastic game. Adol's viking adventure is great, but I do miss the party system of VIII and IX.

#3 Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip A short 3d exploration game that kept the smile on my face from begining to end. It is so much fun to just drive around town and find all the goals to do. Well worth picking up if you need something to take your mind off the world for a few hours.

#2 Mario and Luigi: Brothership I love the new setting of Concordia and its inhabitants. Music, graphics, gameplay, its all good as you'd expect from this series. Main criticism is the length of the game. Even without doing the sidequests, its a 30-40 game, which is quite long for a M&L Adventure.

#1 - Between Time: Escape Room Randomly started this one night. As someone who loves to do escape rooms, this was a great way to spend a night. Finished in one sitting, I did have to break out a notebook to keep notes as I went from puzzle to puzzle in each room. Would reccomend to escape room fans

Anyone who puts this garbage ass game on a best of Genesis list have not actually played it. It was just as terrible back then as it is now.

I never heard of this game until today and I'm very hyped for it.
