Pas surpris que Zucman soit plus un activiste politique qu’un économiste thedailyeconomy.org/article/harv...

JEFFRIES: “we have no leverage” SCHUMER: *pulls out a lime and limply waves it around* BERNIE:

Illinois looks very different in 2025 than it did in 2019. We've passed six balanced budgets with nine credit upgrades, invested in education, driven economic growth, strengthened our social safety network, reformed the criminal justice system, and rebuilt our infrastructure.

A lot of republican events are straight up dangerous for formal acts of protest, but going NIMBY-mode on townhalls seems like a perfect way to distort the calculus of GOP electeds

do you think these Nazi bastards are joking?

Again, the tech media is far ahead of traditional media when it comes to properly covering DOGE, Elon Musk, and Donald Trump

❗️Trump's team asked Ukraine to withdraw a resolution condemning Putin for waging war. Kyiv was shocked: Zelensky refused, — Washington Post cites European diplomats.

Something is shifting. They are still breaking things and stealing things. And they will keep trying to break and to steal. But the propaganda magic around the oligarchical coup is fading. (1/2)

If Biden said that California was voting until a week and half ago, the New York Times would publish 14 stories on tomorrows front page followed by 88 op-eds and another 300 stories this week about his mental acuity. Peter Baker would rush to the WH to give Biden a proctology just for kicks

😂😂😂

👀🇺🇦 Confidence in Zelensky has increased by 8% since January, — poll of social group “Rating"

“The postwar era is over. The global architecture built in 1945 is being burned to ground by Trump. Europeans need to plan for, & invest in, a future where they have to defend themselves without the US.That future does not loom in the distance. It is already here” www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Byline Times is facing major DDOS (malicious traffic-flooding) issues on our site apparently after this article went live... bylinetimes.com/2025/02/21/d...

At this point look like OneWeb is the best option we can find, so please let's write to them and find out more and if they have any limitations for the frontline regions. I think a higher level of inquires will raise their attention to this issue. oneweb.net/our-network/...

I have said it before, but I think it’s time to seriously consider Canada applying to join the European Union! We could offer them vast resources that would add to their security, and they could become the 3rd world power to offset China and USA. The US is in a dark place. Hope they come back!

Read the real stories about what USAID cuts mean, not the Musk propaganda www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/o...

So just bc a former KGB section chief says Trump was recruited in 1987 & the Guardian says Trump was a victim of active measures in the 70s and 80s & bc he does everything Russia wants & seems afraid of Putin & was credibly assisted in his election by Russia, it doesn't mean he's a Russian asset.

they got doom running on a quantum pc github.com/Lumorti/Quan...

Call to Action: civil and human rights protest. Savannah, Georgia on February 22 at 4PM. “WE BEAT 'EM BEFORE. WE’ll BEAT ‘EM AGAIN” #3E #USProtest #ProtestGA #ProtestSavannah #Feb22

Donald Trump’s firing of military leaders — four-star General Brown and four-star Admiral Franchetti — along with top legal officers is a betrayal of legions of first rate service members who dedicate their lives to our nation’s defense. This is a growing national security risk.

the reason that the american right are leaning *hard* into their immorality - which they themselves understand very clearly to be immoral - is, at the bottom of it, they don’t believe in *anything*.

Accurate

Lol. Obviously

Two Israelis who have been held captive in Gaza for nearly a decade are set to return home as part of the latest hostage deal — Avera Mengistu, who will be released after 3,821 days in captivity, and Hisham al-Sayed, who has been held for 3,595 days. www.ynetnews.com/article/bkcw...

I agree with that. Vote is less a right than a responsibility you exerce toward your nation and fellow citizen. Not a whim

I've never seen so many mobilizations, rallies and actions, honestly. They're happening pretty constantly, in cities but also in small towns and in every single state. They're not getting tons of coverage, but they're happening, and they're growing. Join one, or start one, you're not alone in this.

Russian forces currently occupy around 20 percent of Ukraine. At the current rate of advance, it would take Russian forces over 83 years to capture the remaining 80 percent of Ukraine, assuming that they can sustain massive personnel losses indefinitely. isw.pub/UkraineFacts...

'Tax Elon!' Irate crowd shouts down GOP congressman during town hall in deep-red county: Even residents of a county President Donald Trump won by a significant margin are outraged by the Trump administration's slashing of public services — and their Republican congressman's support of the cuts.…

"The crowd again started shouting 'tax Elon,' 'tax the wealthy,” “tax the rich' and 'tax the billionaires.'" The county went 68% for Trump www.lagrandeobserver.com/news/local/r...

People keep bemoaning the lack of leaders in the liberal democratic world - and I echo them. But we overlook Zelenskyy, who is as admirable a symbol of courage, resolve, clarity and righteousness as you will find.

EXCLUSIVE: Explosive new book claims the KGB began grooming 'young and vain' Donald Trump 40 years ago by saving him from financial ruin and turned him into a Russian asset who gave Putin 'everything he wanted' as president www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...

The debate on Ukrainian minerals is moronic. Obviously Ukrainian would welcome US investment to exploit natural resources… Except if you treat them like a colony or backstab them

If you want to read the book apparently all the New York Times tech reporters are talking about today—by way of asking, “Seth Abramson wrote a book?” and “What's Google?” and “Can I learn about what books authors wrote using the Google?”—it’s below. (Odd how many NYT employees hate NYT bestsellers.)

I'm not into conspiracies, Wikileaks or Anonymous, but... so what the hell... one of those nights... Anonymous is dropping this one tonight : #Krasnov

Ein neuer Sheriff ist in der Stadt. #Krasnov

A must watch moment: Republican Sen Tom Tillis shows he may have a spine after all. I know it’s hard to believe, but he actually calls out Putin 👀 Thanks to @reallyamerican.bsky.social

WIRED health & biotech writer here. If you're a USDA employee working on the government's response to the H5N1 bird flu outbreak and would like to speak securely about what's happening at the agency, please reach out to me on Signal at emullin.06. I can honor requests for anonymity.

"farmers are apoplectic. In Ohio, they’re stressed about USAID contracts and USDA cost-sharing investments. They held up their end. The government made promises. Now their family farms and livelihoods are on the line. Billions of dollars are at stake. It’s all being held hostage by Musk and Trump."

So. It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year. I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.
