I had so much hope for Hakeem Jefferies but it's so fucking clear that he doesn't know how to talk to anyone that's not in the weeds on politics. Everything he says it's just a virtue signal to ppl already in the know. He's not going to convert a single non-voter or Trump voter from 2024.

I think one roadblock Democrats (voters and officials) need to overcome ASAP is understanding that there are two worlds of politics: the wonks and the vibers. Messaging that appeals to wonks won't necessarily appeal to the vibers, and if you have to choose who to message for -- go for the vibers.

The most charitable take you can have on Mayor Adams is that what he's doing is no different than the plea deals DAs offer to known criminals, where they get immunity in exchange for whatever the DA needs. But the catch is that immunity comes bc they committed a crime.
