The president sold the federal government to a billionaire, who with his accomplices has been stripping it for parts for the last 3 months. If I were the opposition party I would be loud and clear that everyone involved in this will at minimum be prosecuted

the right wingers hated this one

Dictatorships grab people off the street and jail them. Dictatorships demonize vulnerable minorities. Dictatorships destroy data. Dictatorships reject independent courts. Dictatorships buy the backing of the super-rich. Dictatorships persecute dissidents. See what’s happening, fellow Americans.

bloomberg: ~90% of deported migrants to el salvador had no criminal record

Good question!

I imagine this is somewhere on here already, but finally some good news? Yes, Harvard can afford it if anyone can, but maybe this will give other schools a chance. I think Harvard has some muscle if they choose to use it. How about Harvard Law and Kennedy School graduates? bbc.com/news/article...

Can’t say more strongly: they are claiming the power to disappear people with no recourse, to entirely remove anyone they want to, forever, with no ability to stop them. “Unamerican” doesn’t do it justice. Diametrically opposed to anything even remotely resembling a society we should support.

He’s threatening media companies who are critical of him. He’s talking about sending Americans to foreign prisons. He’s signing executive orders to investigate former staff members who spoke out against him. He’s defying the Supreme Court. Don’t you see what’s happening here?

MILLER: “A DOJ lawyer, who has since been relieved of duty, a saboteur, a Democrat, put into a filing that this was a mistaken removal. It was not.” Astonishing stuff — DOJ conceded even to SCOTUS that the deportation was “administrative error.” Is Trump’s Solicitor General also a saboteur?

To repeat myself: Liz Truss, Erdogan, Narendra Modi, Gotabaya Rajapaksa - DT has put himself in excellent company. There don't seem to be any powerful advisers in place, so. See you Saturday I guess. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/14/w...

If it pisses Der TrumpenFührer off I will gladly share any picture of him sharting himself.

Just saw a “faculty members who are good enough should plan to leave {Red State}” post and good God folks, that is not a possibility. Jason Stanley and Timothy Snyder are superstars; most faculty members have no real ability to up and leave institutions. They’re stuck.
