In the coming weeks, a lot of slow-on-the uptake folks are going to begin belatedly realizing Trump is both an inept moron and a dangerous autocrat. Our great civic challenge in these trying times will be calmly welcoming them aboard instead of primal-screaming in their faces.

a lot of politicians who want to make it “easier to do business” often hone in on slashing fees and taxes because that is what is legible to them, but this often makes the situation worse because the real burden is regulatory and cutting fees means defunding the staff that helps folks navigate it
