Precisely no one involved thinks Comey's post was a credible threat to assassinate POTUS. It's like if the Biden DOJ opened a federal hate crimes probe into William Barr because Barr posted a pic of him giving the ok sign.

The comparison of Trump to FDR - even when presented as a "negative" comparison - is entirely inapposite. FDR and a small group of cronies didn't act alone, and at odds with most Americans like Trump. 1/

FDR, his huge cadre of public servants drawn from many walks of life and the Democratic Congress entered office with a mandate from the voters to address a great crisis, and then acted with the active support of the nation. 2/
