I was really surprised when I read in the news this morning about how positive all the Premiers were about the meeting. Even Danielle Smith. Good work Mark Carney!

It would be great if he could sign it on June 14, Trump's birthday and parade day. πŸ˜‚

There are too many people who don't seem to think of the simple solutions, such as this.

Melania's busy calling Justin Trudeau. πŸ˜‚

Yes, Trump is a f*cking idiot.

If you want more conformation on this, read up on the ways that Russia uses to control Ukrainian citizens in the occupied parts of Ukraine. It's pretty much the same as what's happening in the US right now. Trump is just getting started.

They didn't have enough uniforms for all the new Proud Boys they hired, but Kristi Noem discovered the new tariffs (which are a beautiful thing) made new uniforms so expensive that there would be no money left for her costumes and makeup. So she bought everyone masks and dark glasses instead.

#TACOTrump and his regime are counting on a lot of women not bothering to get new ID, or not knowing they need to, and a lot more putting it off until it's too late.
comment in response to post
Luckily our government helps the citizens and provides aid to them, unlike the shithole regime next door. #TACOTrump

Sorry, but I can't watch it. I just can't stand the little puke anymore.
comment in response to post
If the media thought it was real, they would have been talking about it for months.

Yea, you're probably right. πŸ‘

It might be too late when the midterms come around. There may not even be any midterm elections if Trump gets his way.

Yup. I'm pretty well convinced our forest management in Canada is pretty sound. Of course, you'll hear some people trying to tell you the opposite. I appreciate all environmentalists, but some of them need to stand back and look at reality.
comment in response to post
I grew up amidst logging. Logging is the major economic driver of northern Ontario, and it's not environmentally harmful depending on how it's managed. Ontario has always done a good job managing it as far as I'm concerned. People have a misconception that it is, and maybe rightfully so.
comment in response to post
Yes, they have to consider the future of their land, much like farmers. We can bitch about them spraying some tree plantings, but we also have to realize it's about economics. Their costs are reflected in the end price of paper products. Are they doing a lot of harm by spraying? It's debatable.
comment in response to post
Exactly. I'm the biggest environmentalist you'll ever meet, but I'm also a realist. I understand the balance between environmental protection and economic (business) interests. I also believe the logging/pulp and paper industry, for the most part, has a vested interest in environmental protection.

This is the spaced-out ketamine freak that the republicans think should be entrusted with Americans' personal data. Seriously??

You need to look at reality. There are always concessions made by all parties when it comes to managing our natural resources. Life isn't simple.

Every past President, no matter who they are, has at least a couple of worthwhile quotes for the history books, except for Trump. I don't think he's ever said anything worth quoting or even said anything that could be considered intelligent. He's just a moron.

#Trump Taco.

Disillusionment? And here I thought it was because one was stoned on ketamine and the other was shitting his diaper because of adderall abuse?

Anyone who thinks it is great to work a 60-hour workweek should think about getting themselves some sort of a life.
comment in response to post
#TACOTrump doesn't seem to have the legal authority to do a lot of what he's doing, so why assume he has the authority to do this?
comment in response to post
That's the way I remember it. They said at the time that all the cameras were not working. So now they are going to release some fabricated video, I guess.
comment in response to post
True 😠 I'm hoping all the other world leaders get sick and tired of his bullshit and work together to shut him down completely.

There is a lot to despise about it right now. I feel sorry for the ones who voted for Harris. They don't deserve all this.
comment in response to post
You're right. It's tough, tough work fighting bush fires. Heat, heavy equipment, insects, fatigue and more.
comment in response to post
I'm thinking if Trump shows up for the G7, we can throw his fat ass on the fire and smother it.

Then the poplars/aspens start to grow. They will provide food for the deer & protection for the hardwood saplings. Then the small critters will begin to move in, followed by predators. The wild flowers will attract lots of insects, which the birds will feed on. That's beginning of a forest's cycle.

I think the wild blueberries we have here in Ontario, only grow on the Canadian Shield.
comment in response to post
I haven't picked blueberries in years. I live in Central Ontario now. I was never really sure if blueberries and huckleberries were the same thing. I hated picking them as a kid, but my dad made me...

Oh, nice!!

❀️‍Yes. I wish more people would read up on that.
comment in response to post
When I was a kid growing up in northern Ontario, we had these huge juniper patches where the blueberries liked to grow. You always had to be careful there wasn't a bear on the other side of the patch. πŸ˜„
comment in response to post
Yup. In a normal well well-balanced forest environment, post fire land and clear cuts are a boon for wildlife. One good example is to walk down a logging road the season after it was built, and see all the new growth that feeds wildlife.
comment in response to post
Not sure where you live, but that sounds like pretty good forest management. πŸ‘
comment in response to post
They are not holding enough moisture these days, hence the increasing wildfire problems.
comment in response to post
A clear cut serves the same purpose as a forest fire, which allows the land to rejuvenate itself. Fast growing trees that will impair the growth of the planted species are thinned out, but It still leaves behind new growth plants like berries, wild flowers, bushes with shoots that act as food, etc.
comment in response to post
Yes. Same as lightning strikes. They will ignite fires that smoulder underground.
comment in response to post
A lot of them are.
comment in response to post
The biggest issue is actually dry conditions caused by rising temperatures due to climate change. It affects the forest completely, not just what is being logged. Ironically, at one time, these clearcuts were beneficial to the wildlife because they caused rejuvenation of the land.
