Cool, I'll check it out. My favorite has been Gaming with Doc's Satisfactory vids, but that's really more of interest if you're into that game.

Any specific 65+ year old gamers you're following online?

More like Metroidlameia 😂

I'm not sure that this poll says a lot about American scientists. The scientific community in the US is a diverse one with a lot of non-citizens as well as folks who are feeling targeted for reasons unrelated to their nationality. Nature should probably be above this kind of clickbait.

With over a hundred million active 40+ year old gamers in the US alone, I don't think that folks are not having fun playing them. There is some research talking about them wanting more innovation and less derivative games, though.

Stages and levels. Never heard boards.

It looks great. I'm excited. More than the remake despite the original being one of my all time favorite games.

Just a little pinch, they said

Looking forward to reading about your research. Sounds interesting.

Thanks! That's exactly the kind of perspective needed to keep us "first timers" going.

I always expect Pelinka to sound like Lowe when he is about to speak and it surprises me every time when he doesn't sound like him in the slightest.

Doesn't make any sense. Couldn't this just end up being marketing for Anthony Davis' new prank show? press.wbd.com/us/media-rel... Time will tell. There's a few more days until the trade deadline.

So is there really no chance that this is just epic marketing for Anthony Davis' new prank show? press.wbd.com/us/media-rel...

Is it me or are a lot of organizations already doing these on a daily basis?

Just to clarify for those who will not read beyond the headline, this is not about blaming games - it is about how play has and continues to be weaponized for political purposes.

Sure, that might be so in your first 50 or so games, but once your group learns how to counter the catamaran strategy, the meta really opens up and even the jetskis become valid again. Git gud.

I love the original Fight Boat but the 2nd Edition is a masterpiece.

And never run it until launch, all to be able to state that no Marios were killed in the making of this game

I also love how in the 16-bit era the Mario clones had the super power to make the sun rotate around them

And so Luigi became Ennuigi

So true; I love my Steam Deck but the Switch wins the portability battle.

Hahaha, that could/should be the Big Bad trying to destroy the world.

I bet many graphic designers can't wait for a card game with an infinite Lorem Ipsum combo.

I've been told that the easiest targets for a scam are folks that want something without having to earn it. Either way this goes, replacing legitimate creative or intellectual labor with predictive algorithms is not going to make the world a better place.

How long does it take to get to the second part? You got me interested now.

That's exactly how UFO50's Magic Garden got me to love it - and those rules are actually pretty simple in hindsight.

Yeah, same. I think that's part of why folks are trying to get more alternatives. Fediverse is awesome for folks that can figure it out and are deliberately looking for an alternative, but it has ways to go to be a viable option for the less tech-savvy masses.

Any recommendation to get my mom off Facebook?

Cheers! I'm looking forward to learning more about your work. Plenty of shared interests there.

If there's ever a biography pic, call Bill Skarsgard.

Or use your handle to send more spam and toxicity into the world. I just deleted the app so that the handle isn't free for the taking.

Switch 2 seems the likely name at this point but silly me would love a "Switcheroo" or "Switch Up".

And to think some years ago folks were worried about being deepfaked. Now they'll pay you for it.

Yes! Thanks for putting this together. I'll add it to the readings for the game design class. (Also, sneaky little @netrunner.nullsignal.games logo in the hair.)

I think that's an important goal at any academic level. While I want my class to be a place where you can learn without having to worry about failures living outside of it, I try to connect assignments to the outside world and have students strive for meaningful impact.
