Why did you invite him over to your house if you were going to treat him that way?

If you’re feeling stressed, chances are those you care about are as well. If you have the bandwidth, reach out to them, check in with them, see how they’re doing. Even the most difficult times are bearable when we know we are not alone.

Check your fallacy...

“This is the way the world ends, Not with a bang but a whimper.” — T.S. Eliot, The Hollow Men (I think the title is telling—the world ends with the rise of hollow men…)

Oh, I’m too tired for social media right now… Is that it, or is it that social media right now is exhausting? 🤷‍♂️

Next level.

I am somewhere between Kerouac and Frost, “for I have promises to keep… and miles to go before I sleep…”

The worst part about working on a secret project for your close friend, is that you can’t tell your close friend about the secret project you are working on… 🤷‍♂️

“I don’t know if any of us would’ve thought that we would have so much communication… and so little conversation… I feel like because everyone is able to publish, and be their own bullhorn, that in a way, we have sort of forgotten how to talk to each other..” —Stephen J. Dubner, Freakonomics Radio

Deep down, I think most citizens long for a society whose ideals are based on truth, and not the other way around.

Today is a good day for me to avoid social media.

I never downloaded TikTok in the first place, and it feels kind of nice to have something that is going on in the world right now have no effect on me whatsoever.

One service I provide on social media is to give a heart/like on someone’s post at just the right moment to round it up to the tens. “79 likes? Well, let me make it 80.” You are welcome, world.

I have watched the opening hallway sequence of the first episode of season two of Severance more than four times now… And I can say with confidence that Ben Stiller is a brilliant director.

I am laughing In the middle of the night about Something you said And the story I will tell you When you wake Even insomnia Makes me laugh For it is just More Time For the thought Of You

X-Twitter feels like an abandoned post-apocalyptic landscape, with some survivors struggling for attention, and where I still check in on the friends I met in our own underground vault. 🧵

This is simultaneously funny and helpful.
