The world only "relies on you" because you're fundamentally a bully who blocks us from relying on anyone else. Frankly, the rest of the world will probably flourish.

By my way it's already 1934 Germany.

Crazy to me that they're not managed by a single, independent agency. But anyway, see below. bsky.app/profile/boga...

Word is the siblings hate his guts. At least, as the article says, they're not happy with the direction. Fully expect Lachlan to be rolled the minute the shares distribute

This is already shitty data right off the bat. Another thing that yanks my chain is the way they treat responses like pastafarian as 'no answer'. I'd personally be fine with pastafarian counting within an atheist grouping but treating it as no answer is statistically really, really shitty

Pretty dire situation when a military coup is your *best* case scenario.

I'd say democracy had a good run but did it really?

It'll all be over by 3/24

If you wanna kick him you gotta get on the indie. France has had a couple of shots and couldn't take him when the swing was on. She's got no chance.

I'd like to hear the end of that sentence. As Summer has already said, I suspect he was saying j6ers were right and questioning their commitment if they don't do the same.

The red robes have an M on them. Stands for Mary, iirc. It's been a long time. Don't recall the TV series referring to it.

Bowing out now. Genuinely, friend, stay safe out there.

We have a fairly similar two party structure system here. ie broken. Our Labor party are weak, insipid corporate shills, like your Dems. Our Liberal party, with the most Orwellian name possible, are trying hard to emulate your GOP. They're coming for our electoral system so we can see the red flags
comment in response to post
I really hope I'm wrong. Really do. But before you dismiss Australians understanding of electoral matters just know that we know a thing or two. Transferable value voting, independent election commissioners, paper based auditable voting. You wouldn't be where you are if you had a couple of them.

Well, good luck with that. But if we're talking 1930s Germany just know you've gone from 1933 to 1934 in a few weeks. 1936 can't be far away.

It'll be the election fraud thing they've been building on for years. "There's too much fraud. We have to fix it."

Nothing of the kind. All I'm saying is you're fighting the wrong war if you think your institutions are going to save you. Be safe out there, mate.

Sorry to break it to you but all governments fall the same way when a single party has taken control of the legislature and the judiciary and an authoritarian is leading the executive.

Assuming a lot of people are not getting the Handmaids Tale reference. Or maybe some are and are just trying to hold on to a little joy. Also valid.

Make a note of the time and date you said that.

And, if all of that fails they'll simply refuse to leave office. If you're still of the view that your institutions are somehow going to save you, I respectfully say that you are wrong. If you guys don't hit the streets, like bigly and right the fuck now, it's over.

Then they'll say the election result isn't valid *because* of all the harassment at polling places, which they'll blame on their opponents of course. If all of that doesn't work they can say that the result is illegitimate because only some states voted.
comment in response to post
They could arrest leaders of state governments that defy their call to postpone elections. They have a bunch of domestic terrorists to harass and intimidate polling places. And they have already shown those people they will face no consequences.

Mate, I'm just watching all this from a country with preferential voting and an independent election commissioner. Seems pretty clear a lot of you are still not ready to see the levels of bad faith these guys will go to. Let's count the ways

Mate, Monica is not acting in good faith. She's a garden variety grifter.

I'm paying attention from a country with preferential voting and an independent election commissioner. Respectfully, you're the one not paying attention if you don't see that they're going to suspend elections. They'll find some eLeCtIoN FRaUd reason for it and that will be that.

Make a note of the time and date when you said that

Not one Republican is acting like any of this is going to affect their re-election chances. Have they been explicitly told there aren't going to be any more elections or are they just reading the signs like the rest of us.

What's the quote? Saw it again recently. Something about debating and loving each other after is possible, as long as your position isn't rooted in my right to exist.

The strongest voting determinate I've seen is self interest. The trope that people become more conservative as they age is because, historically, as people age the status quo has come to benefit them. But that's not happening any more.

It's unlikely to be a single party that forms govern on the left. Give it a couple of election cycles you're gunna see a coalition on the left, Labor as the right leaning alternative and the LNP gone. First step is minority government at this election
