Big question did they vote?

I try to shop online with Valhalla even though I’m in Ontario now. Or locally with Trailhead. It’s so sad what happened when MEC membership lost control of the board.

There is so little sapphic representation. Also headlining Grimes over Queer artists, gross

I know that there isn’t enough marketing here in Canada and Canadians are itching for options of where to go so far Mexico and Cuba seem to be the only places filling that space.

We actually have been talking about it. We usually do an adult trip and your top of the list with Patagonia.

We already decided no ptown this year for family week. As a queer family of non citizens we don’t feel ok traveling with children.
We will be returning to Belize though.

Like even the travel section has nothing to reassure anyone. It all reminds me that Pride has become a rainbow marketing campaign now. Look at how many people show to march with us vs come to the party.

I think it should have been moved or cancelled ages ago, when Trump was elected most of us knew this was coming. It’s almost insulting it’s continuing with no statements that I have seen.

@egalecanada.bsky.social has pulled out due to staff safety in traveling into the USA. They have a statement out on it. I’m very proud to support an organization that values their staff so highly in keeping them safe.

I read part of her 1977 speech on Lesbian and literature recently. She was a truth teller & Force.

I agree in many ways. But I also have been living in the states so I don’t want conservative leaders

I totally am the same way. I really like Mike schreiner. I wish we didn’t have such a vote split worry between green and blue in this area.

I am just hoping we get a better turnout than the last election. If we can just get more people out voting we will have a better democracy.

Amanda reinforced my opinions of her that I have seen from school board meetings. She is thoughtful and eloquent. All in all we are super lucky to live with two excellent female candidates.

Your welcome. I added a few more threads above to give a more stream
Of thought as I was going. It was a good debate. It didn’t change my mind about Ford or Tyler. But he was a better orator then I expected. Lori was far better then I expected & I am
So happy she runs over and over in this area now.

All in all I think: Tyler A was unoriginal & stuck to his talking points with no variations. David was awkward & not very able to organize his thoughts. Lori & Amanda both were excellent. Both spoke to both platform & local issues. Both would represent me how I would hope an elected official would.

Both David and Tyler were very pro policing. There was no nuance to this perspective. Just spend more and blue line. Disappointing from both, but not unexpected when both strongly lean on their past experience with police boards and committees. No acknowledgment of the root causes of the issues.

The more progressive (Green NDP) did talk about low income/supportive housing needing to be funded. Amanda did speak to the Landlord|Tenancy delays. However I don’t think any party had an outstanding plan.

My big take aways. Only David really spoke to local farming & food security. Amanda spoke to the middle class with concrete plans & numbers. Lori really spoke to her ability to represent the local area as well as more unique proposals.
No one really spoke to housing at the level I would have liked

Surprised how cooperative and how much Lori and Amanda build each other up when they speak. Tyler seems to be focused on name drops to people in the audience and Fords more high profile spending. David is excellent at riling up the audience with jabs and reminders of the conservatives failures.

Amanda Robertson obviously has crowd support. She is well Spoken on her party platform, seems to be well prepared. Her delivery is clear and thoughtful.

Lori Borthwick is well spoken on both her party platform but also does well in relating it to local issues. She is receiving the most boisterous support. Frankly I am impressed with her performance.

Dave/David O’Neil although not the best public speaker of the panel. He does seem to care about the local perspective. He does take jabs at the conservatives which is well received by the audience.

Tyler Allsopp has mostly relied on party talking points. His delivery is clear and well spoken. However he is not focusing on his role or speaking to local issues. He is being boo’d and generally low level claps from the audience.

Yet all these American citizens keep saying they need asylum in Canada. What about all these people who are being sent home to death. Classic American exceptionalism constantly.

So many people liked it because it had such a predictable movement for so long. But again people knew about the company safety standards and union busting and he’s been a horrible person for a long time.

I have to say if you either worked or invested in Tesla and haven’t stopped, you knew what you were doing. But you thought you could benefit and be the exception.
