At the very least, it would be WAY more entertaining!

I mean, the team has an OPS+ of 77. What's he gonna do, make them worse??

I'm guessing they lack the means and desire to differentiate between "all impact" and "positive impact"

As someone who has been in multiple mascot costumes, you're welcome for my service

Couldn't agree more. I think the most obvious issue is that the US doesn't have the coaching to identify players and teach how to fit what they want to do, and they CERTAINLY don't have the coaching capable of adapting and teaching a new system that best fits their talent

Yes! I don't need you to parrot what Tom Homan said, I can get that anywhere. I need you to tell me if what Tom Homan said is true, what his biases are, why he would act a certain way given his conflicts of interest, etc

The worst part is he COULD be on to something until he makes it about ethnicity! Having homogeneous style of play in an entire national development system could make it easier to train guys to fit that style of play! But that's about building good development structure, not only having white guys

@marisakabas.bsky.social Any thoughts on this now that you've seen both the corporate and independent side of the business and how calling Tom Homan a bitch is adding important context?
comment in response to post
I would've thought social media would eliminate the "relay what they said" from journalists because I can see it there. But a journalist trained to think about the larger context and report what's actually true? That should be a valuable service reporters offer!
comment in response to post
Oof. Friendly reminder that the US military IS NOT TRAINED for domestic peacekeeping and policing missions, where the rules of engagement are different!

Some officers have competitive career opportunities when their initial commitment ends, and some don't for whatever reason. Logically speaking: Some percentage of officers with options will leave, but basically all of the officers without options will stay. Do with that info what you will.

Yeah, but those are very explicitly touristy areas. Developing something like that is VERY different than new building new residential housing and should be something we can reasonable differentiate between

Well if she can't even acknowledge her wrongdoing, then I think you're justified in continuing to despise her existence

Departure floor: "you're only allowed to enter with a ticket! And a Real ID No weapons, no iPads, no water! Safety is paramount in the airport!" Arrival floor: "Look buddy, I don't give a damn if that's your bag or someone else's. Just take it and go away"

Yeah I mean their command could make something work if they REALLY wanted to, but that would require BDE CDR or above to agree to look the other way so lol that's not happening

If the explanation is "well everyone is hand sewn so they're all different", how is the entire year's distribution playing with the same characteristics instead of each being varied?

"It's ok they'll get 3 days off this week" I doubt they do because Thursday is a holiday, but ok they get Monday-Wednesday off?

Maybe it's the same reason scammers still use the Nigerian prince story. It filters out people who would definitely not work so they waste less time with people who aren't suckers
