I appreciate what you’re saying. They are two very different ways of experiencing books. I guess the reason I feel compelled to “die on that hill” is to combat the idea that audiobooks are somehow “less than”. And they are valuable accommodations for people who are unable to read traditionally

Adventure Hour is recordings of (often celebrities) “recording” a “live radio show” on stage. Super funny!

The Way I Heard it is a series of short stories that are told in a slightly misleading way that you try to figure out who/what they’re about. Kind of like brain teasers.

Depending on your taste, The Thrilling Adventure Hour is a lot of fun. Spoofs of old timey radio shows. Also, The Way I Heard It With Mike Rowe (the earlier ones that are super short)
