The cruelty is the point.

We can allow history to repeat itself, and powerful interests to shape our streets in one way. Or we can remember that cities are places where walking, cycling and public transport should be prioritised. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

The Ask stickers are restocked. Thanks for the patience.

On the one hand, such mockery is well earned. On the other, it could very well drive him completely insane, and he still controls the nuclear button.

A longer ride this month as the weather gets warmer - we're off down to Newhaven! As always, meet Saturday 31st, 2pm, Middle Meadow Walk.

Sir Keir is right: Britain is an impoverished island of strangers, and we have been for some time. But scapegoating immigrants won’t fix that, nor will policy built on deceit to accommodate prejudice. Only massive investment in social infrastructure will. My latest for @heraldscotland.bsky.social

Car use and meat consumption drive emissions gender gap, research suggests - French study of 15,000 people shows men emit 26% more pollution due to eating red meat and driving more #climatecrisis www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Shandon, Edinburgh residents are holding a protest about road safety, delays to a long-awaited pedestrian crossing and tackling speeding. It will take place at 5.00pm on Wednesday 7th May (junction of Ashley Terrace/Harrison Gardens).

This.

Here's the route for tomorrow's ride around Polwarth! We ride from Middle Meadow Walk at 2pm.

Yesterday we installed new toilets in Inverleith Park as part of our project to introduce free public toilets there and in the Meadows and Leith Links. Work is now underway to open them in time for summer - watch this space! www.thrivinggreenspaces.scot/news/article...

This Saturday we're off to Polwarth to see some streets in dire need of resurfacing and bike infrastructure. See you there! As usual, meet on Middle Meadow Walk at 2pm.

Starmer's Labour have a HUGE majority, yet we are seeing no: - electoral reform - media reform - action to make the BBC properly independent & apolitical - reversal of NHS outsourcing - renationalisation of key infrastructure & public services - clampdown on lobbying - prosecution of corrupt MPs

Bless her! 🪬🧿

Imagine if that was an attack using a knife or a baseball bat. But trying to run someone over with a car is no big deal. Did the perpetrator at least get banned from driving? #motonormativity #glasgow #carbrain www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/news/scottis...

Nice evening and sunset at #ThePitt in #Edinburgh. Feels like #spring in #Scotland. At least this week : )

Proper, separated #bicycle lanes used in #Paris… Can we have those in #Edinburgh as well, please?

Hey, @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social, we can change too! Edinburgh is a great city for cycling (despite the weather) but more needs to be done. Shifting from cars to bikes (and public transport) is a benefit for all.

20 minute neighbourhoods need a selection of free e-bikes to hire. We’ve got you covered. Hire at sw20.info

I've not heard SUVs referred to as Emotional Support Vehicles before but it's a brilliant description. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
