I just re-read The Little Prince this morning. I couldn't help but wonder why it is considered a children's book. I find it difficult to believe a child could grasp the full meaning behind the book, or maybe that's just me (a grown-up) mistaking a boa constrictor digesting an elephant for a hat.

I feel like I have posted a few times now about the Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, but it's that good. In the appendix, there is a letter Franklin writes to Madame Brillon (a French musician and composer). If you haven't read it, it takes 5 minutes. Enjoy! www.thoughtco.com/the-whistle-...

This matches up with my own experiences working with kids. It's less that they can't read and more that A) they don't want to and B) their reading comprehension is lower. I feel like the solution really is showing kids that reading is fun again rather than just work. www.vox.com/culture/3862...
