Lots of rain falling out there late this evening, but locations above 5700 feet are seeing mix or all snow. 9:30PM Temps: Longmont 45 Boulder 41 Denver 39 DIA 39 Littleton 36 Parker 32 Estes 31 Ned 29 Berthoud Pass 15 #COWX

Just up the hill from Boulder @ 7200 feet --- it is winter again! #COWX

Welcomed rain this evening in #Boulder, but not seeing any real evidence to suggest much snow will be possible tonight. NNW winds just not going to cut it. Not a lot of cooling coming in until well after midnight when the forcing will have shifted off to the southeast.

Steady rain, with embedded thunder, falling this evening with temps in the 40s. Snow level near 7000-7500 feet. #cowx

Thundersnow falling in the vicinity of Rocky Mountain National Park this afternoon. Spring is in the air! #COWX

Few tidbits about the impending winter storm... #COWX

Thanks for coming out!

For the 8th time in the last 9 days, we've reached the 60s in #Boulder! #COWX

It may seem like just another 60-degree quiet day out there right now, but a powerful storm is rapidly en route to the Front Range! Clouds will quickly increase Monday afternoon with rain/snow/wind developing this evening. Greatest impacts south and southeast of Denver! #COWX

We greatly appreciate the concern and kind messages we’ve received over the past days regarding the ongoing chaos in the American weather community following extensive federal budget and job cuts. Here's a small update for those curious on our specific situation. Thank you #COWX

This Week in Colorado Weather: A vigorous winter storm will largely leave Denver & Boulder unscathed Monday night. Difficult travel & blizzard conditions are expected elsewhere in eastern Colorado🌨️💨 Here's the latest including our snow map: bouldercast.com/this-week-in... #COWX #Colorado #Denver

A few more beautiful days in the 60s, but rain/snow return to the Front Range late Monday into Tuesday! Models continue to trend slightly further south with the next storm, with areas south/east of Denver most favored for heavy wet snow (+Mountains). Still some time for things to change... #COWX

Please enjoy my last ever post at Climate.gov/ENSO Blog. This afternoon I was fired by the Trump Administration 15 days before my 2yr probationary period ended on March 13. I have worked at NOAA since 2010, and I'm so incredibly proud of the work I did. If anyone wants a quote, let me know.

The Front Range is in store for a long string of 60-degree days ahead under high pressure, but change is brewing early next week with rain changing to snow likely arriving Monday night ☀️☀️☀️⛅️🌦️ This & more in today's *Premium* weekend outlook: bouldercast.com/this-weekend... #COWx

It'll be notably colder today behind a front! Next week's flurry of southern-track waves will coincide with the arrival of the next MJO peak. What does this mean for Colorado's chances for more snow? This & more in today's *Premium* discussion: bouldercast.com/bouldercast-... #COWX

Today's high temperature in Boulder (66 degrees) was higher than our peak wind gust (64 MPH). Winning? 🤷‍♀️ #COWX

*Premium* BoulderCAST Daily – Tue 02/25/25 | Warm & windy as temperatures soar well into the 60s with winds gusting up to 45 MPH. A cold front arrives this evening: bouldercast.com/bouldercast-... #COWx

This Week in Colorado Weather: An early sample of spring?! 🌻📈 The last two weeks have been considerably colder than normal across the Front Range, but that changes this week as the atmospheric pendulum swings the other direction: bouldercast.com/this-week-in... #COwx #Colorado

Thanks, Colorado! Those sixties today were much appreciated! If you missed it, don't worry...there's much more where that came from this week ❤️ #cowx

Boulder has crossed the 5-foot mark in snow for the season! This is about 5" above our season-to-date average #COWX #Boulderwx

One final tidbit... we're finally back above freezing this morning for the first time since last Friday night, some 152 hours ago. This still pales in comparison to the ~280-hour sub-freezing streak #Boulder had back in January of 1929! #COWX

Most areas received their allocated snow last night, generally between a trace and 7" of snow, but there were a few BOOMING surprises SW of Denver 💣💥 Officially Boulder recorded 3.4" of new snow, with Denver (DIA) only receiving 0.6" How much snow did you get in your neighborhood, Colorado? #COWX

Well the snow totals are in... overall things went mostly as expected with an extremely tight snowfall gradient across the Metro area. Just please dont look SW of Denver, nothing see there! 🫣 #COWX #Snow #Denver #Colorado #Boulder

Snow total of 3.3" here. What's everyone else seeing? #cowx

A view of how our storm is tracking at 5PM compared to where this morning's Euro model run thought it would The actual mid-level low is tracking a tad slower than forecast and further south. #COWx

Small updates to the forecast based on latest data as our storm is about to enter far NW Colorado, trending a tad slower/southward. The higher terrain along/south of Interstate 70 remains the biggest concern for very heavy snow this evening. Evening commute looks largely fine in the Metro area #COWX

Our coldest temperature of the week was a record-tier, not a record-breaker... #COWX #Boulderwx

❄️ Colorado Winter Weather Update ⚠️ Finally some actual snow to go with the brutal cold! Snow arrives Thursday PM, heaviest across the southern Front Range We're expecting quite the gradient in snowfall amounts from SW->NE Here's the latest: bouldercast.com/winter-weath... #COWx #Colorado #denver

New daily record low temperature set in #Denver this morning at -7F. Prior record for February 19th was -4F set in 2006. #COWx

The sun is back and we've quickly zipped back into the positive degrees! #COWX

Today will be cold, but at least there'll be some sun! Odds continue to slowly creep up for a potentially significant snowstorm impacting the area late Thursday into Friday, but have plenty of doubts... This & more in today's *Premium* discussion: bouldercast.com/bouldercast-... #COWX #Colorado

February 19th has one of the most attainable record lows in #Boulder during the month at only -4°F set in 2006. Our forecast low tonight is -1°F, so it will be close! #COWX

Bands of snowfall oriented NW-to-SE will develop across N. Colorado late this afternoon into the overnight, with a narrow area likely to see 3-6"+ snow totals.

10AM Current Temps: Estes Park: 32°F Anchorage, Alaska: 30°F Nederland: 28°F Grand Lake: 26°F Berthoud Pass Summit @11,300 feet: 13°F Fairbanks, Alaska: 12°F Boulder: 9°F #COwx #AKwx

The dangerous wind chills remain east of the Denver area Tuesday, but we wouldn't necessarily call +5-10°F warm! The coldest wind chills will creep westward Tuesday night as our area plummets slightly below zero with light winds. #COWX

24-hr snow totals. Mostly <1" across the lower elevations. A few lucky spots were higher, including 2.0" officially in #Boulder. Amounts were over a foot across Continental Divide ski resorts (Loveland/Winter Park) where stagnant snow bands set up Monday #COWX

South Boulder picked up 1-3" of snow yesterday and overnight, while in north Boulder there was barely a flake! 🙀 Officially, Boulder received 2.0" as light snow continues to fall this morning, with our above average month-to-date snow total now at 9.3"! #COWx #Boulderwx #Snow

The bitter cold will be the main story the next few days with highs in the teens & lows near 0. Banded snow will target the northern Front Range Tuesday evening, with some uncertainty how far south it will come... This & more in today's *Premium* discussion: bouldercast.com/bouldercast-... #COWx
