painted bunting, right?

Hundred Line Last Defense Academy has one, didn’t realize it was licensed until looking to see if the lyrics were anywhere, but turns out RUMBLE (feat. Masato) by Paledusk was an existing song. Spoilers for Day 90+ (vague to minimize spoiler, comments have spoilers too) youtu.be/TChJ2n-3rz4?...

taking this as unrelated to the video, it is in fact about the real Best Girl, Lavinia 💙

I need them to look like a rigorously defined third thing. The binary is dead, long live the trinary 😌

It’s so embarrassing. Reality isn’t a melodrama, and misogyny isn’t some poetic character flaw that reflects a deep inner truth in isolated individuals. Like, imagine if people did this for racism, claiming psychosexual repression was the cause, nothing historic or material. Clown brained thinking.

Like a robot that is designed to look like an anthro character, or Arnold, but instead of I think the biker bar he appears near, it’s a fur convention and he just kitbashes together a fursuit?

I barely remember the plot of them, but I loved the footnotes. First time I’d seen that as a kid, didn’t know that was a thing books could do, was always exciting to turn the page and se half of what I was about to read be a footnote

Oh shit, I love Seth Dickinson’s Exordia

If it’s the | | | | one, then yeah, the director was cooking with that.

I didn’t know the atu, but wow, it even has “but there was only one bed”

I know that "created by" credits are weird before you get into adaptation rights, but feels even weirder to not mention the author or that it's an adaptions in the embed text? But hell yeah

I don’t know if it’s used formally but the podcast “Just King Things” from @rangedtouch.bsky.social use it as a catch all for shared themes, places, people, concepts between the works. Goofy name, but can’t ignore the intertextuality, so why not be a little silly with it?

i know it’s not the intended function, but i’ve enjoyed the non-sequitur text strings coming onto my feed. fixing is probably the right call, but my glup shitto is conjectural bsky.app/profile/glup...

would it be a weird thing to come in as a twitch viewer? not sure what is/if this crosses a line between presences online?

this might just be cause i'm slowly jumping around through @rangedtouch.bsky.social's Shelved by Genre, but how much, if any, Gene Wolf is in those caves, on the topic of literary lineage

yeah, but now they can make him a dilf. the fortnite demo loves furry old man yaoi, right?

fair! i guess that's coming from most recent education being grad school stuff that was very methods focused. undergrad probably not introducing post-structuralist theory as a way to say "here's how to develop a comprehensive lens for literary analysis", more "here are extant modes of reading"

“potentially no reward” being “this additional text was thematically unrelated to the focal text” not “i need money for having read a book”

ranged touch shows (JKT The Method Pays Off in particular) offer that knowledge, shows the work that goes into it, and i’m thrilled it exists, but i feel it’s not work i would be happy doing, regardless of how i’m instructed in it.

i feel like more often, i’m looking to understand, not reach my own conclusion. that’s not an ideal thing to be, but i doubt i’m alone. I love to learn about an intertextual connection, i don’t have the patience myself to build up a familiarity to be able to do so myself with potentially no reward.

wario, did you do this?

oooh, were you “you made me a monster, remember?” and Luzaku’s first appearance?

i do not know how business or numbers work, but the el paso, elsewhere film deal hopefully makes sure bass reeves really doesn't die 🤞

but how will you know if your fan art is Moral and Ethical if you do not force yourself to witness the Discourse?

i had to go to a legendary snapjaw's lair to close an angelic door. i killed them all to reach the door in the back. it was already closed. i open it. i close it. quest step complete 🙂

(hopefully reads as good faith, am cis gay dummy but like the work)

lore question with discourse implications - there’s no such thing as cis green, right? there’s grayscale, and then everyone else is metaphorically trans? if I’ve got that right, what was the theory reasoning for that? broader portrayal of transness as medical intervention for self expression?

i’d been meaning to get to this and you reminded me! i’ve been big parser game fan, but it’s almost always been the more modern ones, 2000s onwards and none with graphic representation of the world. glad to advance to throwbacks of a later stage of the parser games.

reading the name of the rose did more damage to my brain than playing pentiment. andreas maler wasn't the gateway drug to reading focualt's pendulum, and that's just umberto pouring the Rot Juice into my skull the whole time for belbo's shakespeare alt history

would love the smaller #birds ID'd, taken today in coastal south carolina. In shot are a great blue heron and an American wood stork. always surprised to see the much smaller birds also standing in this water, not as deep as it seems.

i am a sucker for the chanting style in 'no good deed', so i think a body horror transformation into a scarecrow is pretty good inspo to bring to collaborators
