As I reflect on the reality of self driving Ubers becoming a reality, I’m considering what today are cutting edge uses of tech will be mundane next decade. I expect wearable A.I. companions that are proactive, always listening and advising people will be commonplace.

I have a challenge for you in Ep 4 of the Resistor Vic Podcast with @billysimonsjr.bsky.social resistorvic.substack.com/p/billy-simo...

Chenowith singing the National Anthem in 4, mostly. Bold choice.

By the way, one of the reasons it’s terrible all of these people lie all of the time about meaningless things is it makes it impossible to believe them when they’re talking about incredibly consequential things.

In fact, I'd say there's a 100% chance that talks either do or do not happen. Flawless.

Senator Ted Cruz 2013 on Obama attacking Syria: "The residual presidential authority to act militarily in the absence of a declaration of war is based on an imminent, direct threat to the United States." "[Acting] would be contrary to the Constitution" Senator Cruz 2025 on Trump attacking Iran:

Under Trump, we have been trained that a law enforcement officer can just be a dude wearing jeans, a T-shirt, a hat, and a gaiter covering everything but his eyes, and we must comply with anything they order us to do, or risk assault and arrest.

Nice that @lvmpd.com is here on Bluesky. Would be nice if they explained why their officers are cool with violating First Amendment rights of the people they're supposed to be protecting. Anyone who flips out at "honor your oath bitch" is too unstable to be a cop.

Big Beautiful Bill, Big Beautiful Bill Do you know some folks who are sick and broke That you wish you could kill?

Sure looked like Kerr said "[Steph's] hurt? Fuck." #lipreading #warriors

I love @pbs.org and @npr.org and you should too. Thank you @steveinskeep.bsky.social Sorry @kairyssdal.bsky.social but the syllables in your name were hard to make work. Shout out to Big Bird.

"as we forgive those who trespass against us" is the LMNOP of the Lord's Prayer.

"I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Gélineau advanced the term "narcolepsy" in 1880 while de la Tourette described his eponymous syndrome in 1885. "Autism" was coined by Bleuler in 1911, with full diagnoses soon after. But what do I know? I'm not the Cabinet secretary in charge of the goddamn Department of Health and Human Services.

The last guy to show off his military access by sharing classified military intel with unauthorized people on a consumer chat app, Jack Teixeira, will be in prison until 2036

I feel like we need to keep saying this because it’s so insane: This is a legal U.S. resident who has been detained for over a month now for his political opinions.

An innocent man who committed no crime but is the same race as the person who murdered your daughter should have to spend the rest of his life in a concentration camp is the argument?

“I can…assure you that were this a Republican president…targeting Democrats, I at least would speak out just as vigorously against it because if we are going to respect rule of law, the apparatus of the federal government cannot and should not be used as a partisan tool to bludgeon your enemies."

The full quote from RFK, Jr. is truly disgusting and this is 100% him calling for institutionalization of autistic people. This is horrifying.

Yup. They'll send a legitimately awful US citizen to CECOT, and anyone who criticizes it will be accused of supporting the awful person... and then they'll send someone slightly less awful. Eventually, they'll have established that they can send anyone.

Calm down, folks, it was just an attempted assassination of a Jewish Democratic governor and his family on the first night of Passover, it’s not like somebody spray painted a dick on a Cybertruck.

the fact that there are many details in the report that are just observably false is a good reason news organizations could, if they wanted to, deny it the presumption of proof and cover the president's health as if it's a scandalous question

Is Ron Vara in the room with us right now?

Kidnapping. Capturing a person against their will without due process is called kidnapping. Transporting them to another country without due process is called human trafficking. A squalid extrajudicial prison for people found guilty of no crime is called a concentration camp.

Sotomayor: "The implication of the Government’s position is that not only noncitizens but also United States citizens could be taken off the streets, forced onto planes, and confined to foreign prisons with no opportunity for redress if judicial review is denied unlawfully before removal"

Just a legal historian here reminding everyone that “high crimes and misdemeanors” do not need to be felonies. They can include political abuses and stupidity, like, hypothetically, destroying the economy and wiping out people’s savings in 3 days.

This tweet stood the test of time...

I do think it's worth marking and remembering that these people were willing to tolerate everything we've experienced since January and more provided it didn't disrupt the economy.

There it is. That’s a HUGE part of the reason Trump & the oligarchs love the Gilded Age — the era before the income tax. They want to shift the tax burden back to consumers & working people while the robber barons celebrate their biggest tax cuts in US history. That’s also why Elon decimated govt.

It is 2002. I am 18 years old. We are in a once-in-a-generation economic crisis. It is 2008. I am 24 years old. We are in a once-in-a-generation economic crisis. It is 2020. I am 36 years old. We are in a once-in-a-generation economic crisis. It is 2025. I am 41 years old. We are in a—

It’s still hard to believe the simple fact that this is all self-imposed. Everything that’s happening right now wasn’t the result of some foreign adversary destroying the country. We did this all to ourselves by electing the dumbest motherfucker to ever rule a nation.

might as well cut the 2026 ads now about how every Republican member of Congress gave their total and unreserved backing to the Trump tariffs.

This ridiculous deflection is such a non sequitur. Due process is what distinguishes us as a people from the monsters who do commit heinous crimes. If there’s no due process, we’re a society that can just lynch people on an accusation, with no need to get it right.

We’re doing Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo again, except both at once, and to random dads and barbers abducted off the streets of America for the crime of being Latino

Le Monde reporting that a French scientist traveling to Houston to attend a conference was denied entry to US after a search of his phone & computer revealed messages critical of Trump's science cuts, "which [says CPB] conveyed hatred of Trump & could be qualified as terrorism". Computer confiscated
