That you did not reflexively smack them for saying that to your face means you must have superhuman strength. At the very least, my eyes would have widened and popped out like a cartoon character.

I think you're right. This is way beyond the usual centrist / progressive schism - the party leadership is just failing so spectacularly on so many fronts.

It's just mind-boggling to me, and in the wake of Trump being found guilty of sexual abuse and the overturn of Roe, no less.

Job well done to this man. Has to be hard to stay cool in that situation.

It's just incredible how much Dem electeds are screwing up this moment. They'd be treated like heroes if they just fought for their own party's priorities (looking at you, NY legislature), but instead they won't protect their own and are begging us to vote for a corrupt, Trumper-funded sex pest.

You would rather us be ruled by corrupt fascist sexual predators than have a single billionaire pay a little more in taxes for the common good.

There was very little real energy behind anyone in 2021. Everyone was utterly exhausted and checked out after 2020. Zohran has brought waaay more excitement to this race than there would be otherwise, and progressives have a better strategy this time around, so I remain hopeful.

WTF does this racist nonsense have to do with being mayor of NYC? Asking for myself and other New Yorkers.

Think of all the stories they could be telling about these protests and this movement. They sure would be if it were conservatives in the streets in droves. Hardly a day goes by they don't feature the disordered ramblings of a Trump World "thought leader", yet no space for millions of protesters.

Exactly. I find it hard to believe he wouldn't have shut that down if he didn't like it.

You and elected Dems must start howling about this non-stop, to the press and directly to GOP colleagues. Tell them you don't feel safe around them, you're disgusted with them, accuse them of loving and inciting violence. Treat this like your life depends on it, quit playing nice with these ghouls.

It's too bad Jimmy broke all the time because I otherwise thought he did a lot of great work on the show. I always thought Lorne was actively encouraging him and Horatio Sanz to break because I recall it got worse over time.

There were over a hundred thousand of us literally 3 blocks from the NYT offices, but I guess none of us were sitting in a diner, so ho-hum.

The violence always comes mostly from the right for a very simple and very unpleasant reason: it is what you resort to when you do not have the arguments. It is the outmaneuvered bully with an anger management problem’s response.
