The article suggests having smaller chicken/egg operations helped in limiting the spread of the virus. It also said smaller scale operations work in Canada because the gov't provides the price supports that allow small farmers to be profitable. I think those two things outweight the climate.

It's not just nature. It's the risk of how we produce eggs in the US. Canada did not suffer this disruption and see its egg prices spike. Maybe we should learn from this...
