@danharmon.bsky.social Looks like they heard you:

I testified against HB900 in the last session, as did an eighth-grader. If you fall anywhere between "published author" and "middle schooler," love the freedom to read, and can make it to to the Capitol in Austin this Thursday to testify, I hope you will.

A bit late on this but if you haven't checked it out you should listen to this mini episode of Midnight Pals featuring the first totally canonical appearance of Charles Dickens!

What is the coolest shot in movies?

The Indigenous People of North America have decided to go back to calling the Gulf of Mexico, “Chalchiuhtlicueyecatl”. It is what the Nahuatl People originally called it as it is the domain of the goddess Chalchiuhtlicue, who is assoc w/water bodies, including the Gulf of Mexico.

The “Submitted For The Approval Of The Midnight Pals” podcast has an episode on Interview With The Vampire and I. Am. Dyinggg 😂

Nothing better than sushi on superb owl night. I have never seen a restaurant so devoid of human beings.

This week's @midnightpals.bsky.social podcast is out! Anne Rice visits the campfire and tells her gay gothic romance, "The Tale of the Interview with the Vampire", in which somebody interviews… a vampire! Listen here: midnight-pals.simplecast.com/episodes/the... or on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc

So Trail of Tears 2 then? That's what we're doing now? www.reuters.com/world/middle...

6 Up, 6 Down. That's right Woodchuck Chuckers it's Groundhog Day.

5 down, 1 to go, next try not to dream Groundhog Day for a week

4 down, 2 to go. Rita and Phil enjoy 19th century French poetry but I have some other light reading options for the break.

Groundhog Day Marathon: 3 down, 3 to go. And I have to hand it to Gateway Film Center. This may not be quite Sweet vermouth on the rocks with a twist but it is delicious

2 down, 4 to go, woodchuck chuckers

12th annual Groundhog Day movie marathon. Stop looking, try one of the donuts, they're exquisite.

Season 2 of Submitted for the Approval of the Midnight Pals continues! This week I have the honor of playing Hans Christian Andersen in @dearnicoletta.bsky.social 's hilarious script!

TOMORROW, pals!! #AudioDrama In THE TALE OF THE HELLRAISER, a mysterious puzzlebox leads the Pals to the 9th circle of hell to confront a gang of sadomasochistic demons. Also - Zombie Henry W Longfellow! - Mary Shelley's switchblade origin story! - Brian Jacques vs Catterina in cartoon mayhem!

Choose 20 films that have stayed with you or influenced you. One film per day for 20 days, in no particular order No explanations, no reviews, just gifs. First One.

Post your favorite Star Trek character. Worn answers only.

@dieworkwear.bsky.social seeing you mention Superman a few days ago I'm curious, in Superman comics and film they mention that Clark Kent wears baggy clothes to hide that he's Superman, something some movies do better than others. What's the best way Clark could hide that he could punch an asteroid?

Se7en is a Christmas movie because people talk about the Bible and Brad Pitt gets a present at the end.

The odyssey of going to a coffee beer tasting with my wife while not caring for coffee is more like Homer's Odyssey than I would care to admit. A long journey punctuated by occasional horrors.

While you're waiting for season 2 of the @midnightpals.bsky.social podcast, I made a wee playlist of the music I did for Season 1 soundcloud.com/dulcimerjohn... (If you haven't listened to the show yet, midnight-pals.simplecast.com/episodes !) (AND we're up for Audio Verse Awards! Find 'em & vote!)

I will never forget the time someone bought the domain name of Guy Fieri’s failed restaurant and posted this fever dream of a menu.

This is great and I'm going to date myself very specifically by saying that when I glanced at the article I thought, "Huh, guess winning Class President does lead to great things."

Kyle Mooney's Y2K is an innocuous enough horror comedy, and has a couple genuinely surprising kills in it. But he climax hinges around a USB flash drive a full year before they came out and yes I can be that pedantic sometimes it's a problem.

Yes, I'm religious and a man of deep, unshakeable conviction and faith. I believe in the Holy Trinity.

Happy Birthday Dr Who. What's your favorite story? Too hard a question, but "Blink" is one of my favorites with the best story to go with it. I first watched it a 3am on my laptop in my room. The calendar I had at the time was a promo for the movie Angels and Demons and was all angel statues.

Talking to 10-year-old Her: No DUH. Me: You could also say DUH. Her: What does DUH mean? Me: Same as no DUH Her: No, it doesn't... ***stares*** waiiiiit.
